Let me introduce myself super quick, I’m Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous® and I’m so excited to be here today!
I love bright, happy colors and polka dots, so you can imagine that I love this little guy! Looking for some simple, yet festive Christmas decor? This adorable little Christmas deer bust is perfect for you!
He’s super easy to make with little fuss. Although now I’m debating whether or not I should add a red pom pom to his nose!
I love how the felt flowers add texture and depth to this Christmas art.
Tutorial
Want to make one of your own? Great! Here’s how I made mine:
Supplies:
- Craft Felt in Christmas colors
- Christmas scrapbook paper
- Sheet music or book pages
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
- Silhouette CAMEO {could also use a craft knife if you don’t have a digital cutter}
- BIGkick {pictured below}
- 8×10 White Picture Frame
- Paper trimmer
- Double sided Adhesive Runner
- Use your digital cutter to cut a deer bust out of the book page or sheet music. My deer measured about 8″x5.5″.
- Cut your background Christmas paper to be 8×10 using a paper trimmer.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the deer bust and attach to the background paper.
- Cut tiny circles in your red felt for the 2 small red pom pom felt flowers. I used my trusty BIGkick to cut the little circles in my felt, but you can easily hand cut them with scissors.
- Make your felt flowers using your hot glue gun. The pom pom flowers have 6 small felt circles folded into quarters and glued on. The green flower is simply a square piece of felt cut into a swirl and then wrapped around. {there are many tutorials for these types of flowers so if you don’t know how to make them, google it. 🙂 TIP: use this trick to get rid of your hot glue strings!
- Attach your felt flowers to the bottom of your deer bust and then pop him in the frame and you’re done!

Thanks Linda! What a cute project! I love it. And, I think it would look great with a red pom pom nose too. Linda has such cute ideas on her blog. Here are a few I think you’ll love:
She has this adorable FREE Thanksgiving Printable that you can use for utensil holders for your Thanksgiving dinner!
Or look how cute these Washi Tape Turkeys are! This would be a great craft leading up to Thanksgiving too!
And I just love her Monogram Christmas Wreath! It’s perfect for Christmas time.

You actually make it seem so easy along with your
presentation however I to find this matter to be really something which I believe
I might never understand. It kind of feels too complicated
and very huge for me. I’m looking ahead for your subsequent publish, I will try to get the hold of it!
