You know I LOVE color. I love adding MacKenzie-Childs items to my home. Their colors and patterns fit in with our new (old) vintage home so well! I was able to attend a virtual conference with their team in October. It was so fun! I met their team and some artisans. I was amazed at the time and talent that goes into EACH and every piece they create.

MacKenzie-Childs has an avid following, and for good reason. Each piece goes through a rigorous quality assuredness program. Since every item is handmade, each item is unique and of the utmost quality. I ordered the 7-Quart Flower Market Stockpot and the details are amazing. The lid has a beautiful finial on top. And the whole piece is heavy and so well made.

I love displaying my MacKenzie-Childs pieces in our newly remodeled kitchen. One of my favorite things to do is display flowers in my stockpot! I created a holiday centerpiece in the stockpot and I love the way it pairs with the plaids on our holiday table!

Create a Winter Hot Cocoa Station

I used some of my Mackenzie-Childs items to create a little hot cocoa station for my daughter’s 16th birthday! The Santa Nutcracker Mugs and Platter were perfect focal points for the station. We recently refinished a vintage gun cabinet with new tile as a place to store our everyday dishes. MacKenzie-Childs Tartan Napkins gave the cabinet to give it extra cheer! Guests help themselves to some treats and hot cocoa displayed in our new cabinet!

We also had a brunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. I continued the plaid theme to the dining room table with cozy MacKenzie-Childs Tartan Throws. They are so soft!! I added some these whimsical huge black and white ornaments to the table. Above the table is my favorite holiday item – this fabulous MacKenzie-Childs Happy Holidays Wreath. It is a show-stopper and an item that I will treasure for years to come!

We threw a festive Holiday Hallmark Channel Movie Party and we even made a Hallmark Channel-theme bingo game you can play while you watch. The first person to get Bingo gets a prize!

Christmas Party Food

Finger food is perfect for a Christmas party. Cost Plus World Market has an incredible selection of food – from traditional holiday food, to imported food, exotics chocolates and more! I picked out some delicious, easy food to create party appetizers. I put all of my food on a mobile bar cart which made getting things ready so easy. I prepared everything in the kitchen and then just rolled the cart over to the family room right before the party started! You can shop my party food and decor below!

Bruschetta Appetizer

I bought two different baguette crisps — garlic, chives and parsley and also olive oil and sea salt. Then I topped them with the yummiest artichoke and tomato and basil bruschetta toppings. I sprinkled some fresh herbs on top. SO easy!

Gourmet Popcorn

I also made fresh flavored gourmet popcorn with a World Market popcorn kit . I popped the corn, then added the topping. I put each flavor in a bowl and added a little tag.

Retro Christmas

There are so many cute holiday items at Cost Plus World Market. I thought a retro Christmas theme would be adorable for this party. The gold bar cart has a retro glam feel and is the perfect size for a party! I put my party food on the cart, The Red Flower Mugs are extra big and perfect for the guests to create their ultimate hot coca creation! The Retro Felted Merry Christmas banner from Cost Plus World Market was perfect to hang on the front of the cart. I continued the retro Christmas theme this Red Felted Wool Runner – it has pom poms!!

TO make things super easy I made a big batch of white hot chocolate in my crock pot. I put this on about 5 hours before my party was scheduled to start. While the hot chocolate cooked I decorated and got things ready. It made the party so easy to throw. I found this amazing set of Red Heart Mugs I arranged the hot cocoa bar up on the top shelf of the bar cart. I put each of the toppings in a separate container — marshmallows, cookies, white chocolate chips, candy, peppermints, etc. You can add basically any type of toppings you want. Then I set the flavors out in front. When the guests came they took a mug, added the white hot cocoa from the crock pot and then came over to the cart and added the flavor they wanted and toppings! That way everyone could make their own ultimate hot cocoa creation! And for those guests that wanted milk chocolate cocoa – I found individual flavored mixes.

Hallmark Channel Movie Bingo Game

We love Hallmark Channel holiday movies. So I decided to create a BINGO game you can play while you watch! Once everyone had their party food and sat down I handed out the movie bingo cards! We used marshmallows as game markers, While we watched the movie we marked off things we saw in the movie. Some of the markers are a tree, a kiss, a sled, etc. There are 8 different bingo cards and each one is different.

Bingo Prizes

I thought it would be fun to have bingo prizes. I found these beautiful Petal Lotus Capiz Candle holders at World Market. I wrapped each one in cellophane and added a tag. I decided to get one for each of my guests and we kept playing until everyone had scored a bingo! It was fun to send my friends home with a little memento from our holiday party. I loved giving them candles because it’s something that they can use all holiday season!

DIY Donut Stacker Party Idea

• 1 piece of 2×6 pine cut 24 inches long
• decorative trim molding {Get a piece at least 4 feet long so you have extra room for the miters}
• (4)  ½-inch dowels, each cut 18 inches long
• wood glue
• miter saw or miter box
• ½-inch drill bit and drill
• Painter’s tape and paintable caulk
• Optional: small finishing nails, hammer, nail set, primer and paint

Thanks to everyone to came to the 2nd annual TT&J Cookie Exchange Party!!

It was so much fun. I had a wonderful time meeting new friends! And those cookies —- wow!!! Every single cookie was different, delicious and so so pretty!!

I love cookie exchanges — it’s a festive excuse for a party PLUS you come away with so many different varieties of cookies. I freeze some of mine, and then bring them out when I have a party to go to, or guests over during the Holiday Season!!

This year we had over 45+ people come to the party!! It was hard to keep track of everyone because it was an open house-style event and I wanted to keep it open to as many people as possible, so you didn’t have to bring cookies to be able to come. I did get one big group shot with most of the people (above).

And I loved seeing the cute cute babies and toddlers that came too. I miss having babies.

And a big THANK YOU to Scentsy for providing the Goodie Bag gifts. They were SO generous and sent warmers and yummy scents for all of the attendees.

PLUS, they gave away TWO of their Scentsy Cause Buddy Bears.

And I love what these bears do — they are a snuggly bear with a little inside pouch where you can put a Scentsy fragrance — and all proceeds from the sale of these animals go to Ronald McDonald House Charities® to improve the health and well-being of children all over the world. Scentsy will donate 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this Buddy directly to the organization. Awesome!!!
