I have the same question about the eggs? I’m guessing they go in the cake part, but the recipe directions say they go in the topping…which would be raw eggs?!

My great grandma has a similar recipe involving pretzels on the bottom in place of cake and strawberry jello on top of that. Sounds bizarre but it’s the perfect mix of salty and sweet.
