I love a bright happy spring project. And I also LOVE wreaths. It’s fun creating wreaths and thinking of new wreath ideas. I also love non-traditional wreaths. So when I saw this wooden wall organizer at Hobby Lobby the other day thought it might be a fun Spring Wreath for my front door.

I filled it with some pretty florals, some BRIGHT AND HAPPY felt pom poms, a little word and some black and white ribbon and hung it up.

Here’s what I did:

I started with this white wood organizer from Hobby Lobby.

I found three bunches of artificial flowers and added those to the basket. Then I added two sprigs of these yellow ball flowers – I am not sure what you would call them LOL.

Then I took one of my felted ball garlands. I find these at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section. I cut about 10 of the felt ball off and glued them on the green florals to give everything a more colorful feel.

I also found these little word blocks for 2.44 at Hobby Lobby. For that price I can’t make one myself, right? I love the black and white buffalo check ribbon. I tied a bow with the ribbon and hot glue it onto the front of the basket and then added the word block on top. The last thing I did was put a loop of ribbon at the top of the organizer to hang it up on my door!

I love the colorful spring vibe it has on my door! Now I just need to decide what to put in my pots on either side of my door. Do you have any suggestions?

I am all set for warm weather. I can’t wait!!

Thanksgiving Warm & Cozy Door Hanging Ideas

Have you seen these wood slice ovals at Target’s Dollar Spot? I loved the navy color and I thought they would be perfect to make a Thanksgiving door hanging. I used my new Home+Made Warm and Cozy line of paper and embellishments to create these fun little door hangings.

I love the new line with all of the plaids and houndstooth papers. Plus the ephemera are adorable.

Lots of golds, florals and camping icons like enamelware mugs, leaves and woodland creatures!

How to Make Rolled Paper Flowers

I create some SIMPLE paper flowers using these Warm and Cozy plaid papers. This is how to make the flowers.

• Cut out circles of different sizes. Cut inside of each circle, following the outline of the edge in a spiral direction until you get to the center of the circle. Leave a small circle in the middle of each circle.
• Then roll up each circle from the outside in until you read the circle in the middle.
• Add a dot of hot glue to the circle in the middle and let go of the rolled up edges so they unfurl a little.
• Hold the unfurled edges into the circle in the center of the flower until the hot glue dries.

I made three different sized flowers out of each of the papers and used those flowers on the door hangings. I love that the paper flowers add dimension to the piece. I also love that you can see both patterns on the paper. So pretty.

Thanksgiving Warm & Cozy Door Hanging Ideas

I added a little THANKFUL embellishment from the Warm and Cozy ephemera pack. I added a gold BLESSED sticker from the Warm and Cozy sticker pack to the center of the other door hanging. Isn’t that fox cute. I love him.

I gave one to my mom for her birthday. She loved it. I think she loved that it was something that I made just for her. I hope so anyway LOL. I think the other one will look perfect with my royal blue rug out on my porch for Thanksgiving!!

I just love this time of year!

This month, as part of the Michaels Makers team, we were asked to create something for Autumn. So I headed over to Michaels store for some inspiration. One of the first things I saw were these small metal letters in the new RAW section. I loved them. And I thought the metal would look great against the texture of burlap. So I picked up a canvas and some burlap from Michaels fabric section.

And as I was putting the project together, I decided that bringing a natural element would be pretty. So I took a branch from my backyard and attached it to the canvas. I used my Cricut Explorer machine to cut out leaves and I used my new American Craft Home+Made Paper for the leaves! I found the acorns on the trail I run on every day.

I hung the Fall Wall Art over the little banquet at the #1905Cottage. I think it’s so pretty with the gold polka dots.

Here’s the simple tutorial:

1. I wrapped the canvas with the burlap fabric. I used a staple gun to attach the fabric to the back of the canvas.

2. I glued the letters onto the canvas.

3. Then I glued the branch to the top of the canvas.

4, I used my Cricut Explorer machine to cut out leaves from my new Home+Made American Crafts paper line.

5. Then I glued the leaves onto the branch and glued the acorns too.
