<p>I am almost done with my Kitchen Remodel. One of the last things I wanted to do was change out my kitchen display cabinet. I had changed it out about three years ago &#8211; using <a href="Kitchen Remodel Project -- DIY Kitchen Cabinet Update with Wrapping Paper! "><strong>wrapping paper instead of wallpaper</strong></a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/kitchen-cabinet-redo-with-wrapping-paper" rel="attachment wp-att-31119"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-31119" title="kitchen cabinet redo with wrapping paper" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/kitchen-cabinet-redo-with-wrapping-paper.jpg" alt="" width="576" height="386" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/kitchen-cabinet-redo-with-wrapping-paper.jpg 576w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/kitchen-cabinet-redo-with-wrapping-paper-150x100.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/kitchen-cabinet-redo-with-wrapping-paper-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></a></p>
<p>I love using heavy-duty wrapping paper instead of wallpaper because:</p>
<ul>
<li>It&#8217;s cheap &#8212; under $10 for the project.</li>
<li>It&#8217;s temporary. And I know that I like to change things up frequently.</li>
</ul>
<p>The green leafy theme worked with my kitchen before with the maple cabinets. But I wanted something to go with my grey and aqua theme of the new kitchen redo. I have been trying to find some wrapping paper for so long!!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/fifth-and-hazel-wrapping-paper" rel="attachment wp-att-31132"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31132" title="fifth and hazel wrapping paper" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-wrapping-paper.jpg" alt="" width="402" height="600" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-wrapping-paper.jpg 670w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-wrapping-paper-100x150.jpg 100w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-wrapping-paper-201x300.jpg 201w" sizes="(max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px" /></a><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/fifth-and-hazel" rel="attachment wp-att-31123"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-31123" title="fifth and hazel" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel.jpg" alt="" width="311" height="87" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel.jpg 311w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-150x41.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fifth-and-hazel-300x83.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px" /></a></p>
<p>And then I saw this paper from <a href="http://fifthandhazel.com/shop/categories/holiday/wrapping-paper"><strong>Fifth and Hazel</strong></a>. And it&#8217;s Chevron <em>and</em> grey. I know, I just had to order some!! And it&#8217;s so thick and delicious. Perfect for wrapping a beautiful gift. But also perfect for home decor projects. And perfect for my little cabinet.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/the-paper-hanging-supplies" rel="attachment wp-att-31120"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31120" title="the paper hanging supplies" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/the-paper-hanging-supplies.jpg" alt="" width="402" height="600" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/the-paper-hanging-supplies.jpg 670w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/the-paper-hanging-supplies-100x150.jpg 100w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/the-paper-hanging-supplies-201x300.jpg 201w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px" /></a></p>
<p><em><strong>Here&#8217;s what I did:</strong></em></p>
<p><span id="more-31106"></span></p>
<ul>
<li>I took the old paper and tape down.</li>
<li>The secret weapon to this project? Double-sided tape!! I love that stuff.</li>
<li>I held the new paper up to the top of one side of the cabinet. Then I smoothed it down to the bottom of the cabinet.</li>
<li>I made a crease with my nail. Then I took the paper down and cut the paper about 2 inches below the crease.</li>
<li>Then I rehung the paper and put a couple pieces of the double-sided tape to hold it at the top.</li>
<li>I took my X-acto knife and cut the paper at the bottom.</li>
<li>Then I took the second piece and matched it up at the top so it was seamless. I did the same thing and had it overlap the first piece.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/installing-the-wrapping-paper-cabinet-shelves" rel="attachment wp-att-31110"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31110" title="installing the wrapping paper cabinet shelves" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/installing-the-wrapping-paper-cabinet-shelves.jpg" alt="" width="595" height="614" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/installing-the-wrapping-paper-cabinet-shelves.jpg 991w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/installing-the-wrapping-paper-cabinet-shelves-145x150.jpg 145w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/installing-the-wrapping-paper-cabinet-shelves-290x300.jpg 290w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px" /></a></p>
<p>I also added some smaller widths of paper to cover the front of the shelves. I love the way it looks through the glass.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/line-the-front-of-the-shelf" rel="attachment wp-att-31111"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31111" title="line the front of the shelf" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/line-the-front-of-the-shelf.jpg" alt="" width="420" height="627" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/line-the-front-of-the-shelf.jpg 1000w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/line-the-front-of-the-shelf-100x150.jpg 100w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/line-the-front-of-the-shelf-200x300.jpg 200w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/line-the-front-of-the-shelf-685x1024.jpg 685w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px" /></a></p>
<p>I also traced a wooden letter H that I had and put some of the pretty yellow wrapping paper:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/trace-the-letter" rel="attachment wp-att-31114"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31114" title="trace the letter" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/trace-the-letter.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="402" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/trace-the-letter.jpg 1000w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/trace-the-letter-150x100.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/trace-the-letter-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/01/kitchen-remodel-project-diy-kitchen-cabinet-update-with-wrapping-paper.html/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side" rel="attachment wp-att-31115"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter  wp-image-31115" title="wrapping paper cabinet side" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side.jpg" alt="" width="560" height="836" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side.jpg 1000w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side-100x150.jpg 100w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side-200x300.jpg 200w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/wrapping-paper-cabinet-side-685x1024.jpg 685w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px" /></a></p>
<p>This is a project that costs under $10. And it can totally change up the way your cabinet looks.</p>
