Easy 10-Minute Valentine’s Day Wall Art

Here’s an easy way to decorate for Valentine’s Day or it would even be a beautiful handmade wedding gift.

And the best part is that it only takes about 10 minutes to create!

How to Make 10-Minute Easy valentine’s Day Heart Art

Here are the instructions to make this easy heart art!

Heart Art Supplies

• Square canvas (either a 10 inch canvas or a 6 inch canvas, or both!)
• paper flowers – you can use or make paper flowers, but also small silk flowers would be pretty too. Get creative!
• 2 Squares of scrapbook paper (9.5 square for the 10 inch canvas 0r 5 inches square for the 6 inch canvas)
• Glue dots
• Print out of heart template (below)
• brads – for the canvas corners (optional)

Directions to Make Heart Art

• Cut out a square of scrapbook paper
• Print off the heart template and then staple it on top of one of the scrapbook paper squares
• Cut out the paper heart using the template
• Attach the other scrapbook paper to the canvas. You can Mod Podge it or if you have a Xyron sticker machine you can run the scrapbook paper through and then attach it to the canvas that way.
• Then attach the heart to the canvas with glue dots.
• Take the paper flowers and place them on the heart, attaching them with glue dots.
• For a final finishing touch you can add sticky dot embellishments to the corners of the canvas to look like decorative nails.
• Then hang them up or arrange them on a shelf and you have instant Valentine art.

Tissue Paper Valentine Tree Centerpiece

How to Make a Tissue Paper Heart Tree Centerpiece

Here’s how to make this easy centerpiece idea!

Use Branches

To create the tree, use real or faux branches. I had a olive leaf garland that I found on sale, so I just cut that apart to make branches. You can cut some branches from a tree in your yard or use faux branches. Find a container to use. I used a simple white vase. Then put your branches in your vase.

Cut Tissue Paper Hearts

I used two different colors of PINK hearts for my tree. I used about 8 layers of tissue paper and cut out three different sizes of hearts out of both colors of the pink tissue paper. But you can use ANY color or multiple tissue paper colors for your project. White would also be beautiful!

Attach the Hearts to Your Branches

Once I had the hearts cut out, I used hot glue to attach the hearts to the branches. If you don’t want to use hot glue you can use glue dots or even a dot of regular white glue.

Distribute the Different Sized Hearts on the Tree

I used the largest size of hearts first. Once I had those attached, I worked my way through the hearts by ize, ending with the smallest size hearts. I love using tissue paper for this project because the tissue paper is so thin and the light comes through the tissue paper hearts which I think is so pretty!

Display Your Tissue Paper Heart Valentine Tree

This valentine tree is so fun as a centerpiece for a coffee table or dining room table, but it would also be so pretty on a kitchen counter or island or even on a entryway console or bedroom dresser. The possibilities are endless!

Free LOVE Valentine’s Day Glitter Gold Banner

It just doesn’t seem possible that Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away. Seems like just a few days ago I was taking down my Christmas decor…well, to be fair that actually was just a few days ago. Anyway, I wanted to add a little bit of festive color to my decor this year and I have a cute coordinating freebie just for you!

Just Print and Cut Out

I have been loving the digital gold glitter (all the sparkle, none of the mess!) so I decided to glam up my Valentine’s printables. It’s really easy to put together your banner. First of course you’ll have to decide which parts to use. There are four letters to spell out “LOVE” plus two decorative accents that you can use in place of the “O” or on the ends of the banner to some charm. Then print out the pages (there are three all together) and cut out the pieces. I recommend printing on cardstock, and for the best and brightest color, have your banner printed at a copy store. Use ribbon or string to tie the banner together, or just use a little hot glue or even double sided tape to attach the string to the banner.

10-Minute Sharpie Valentines Tablecloth

We had such a fun time throwing our first annual GALantine’s Party  a couple of weeks ago! Ladies celebrating ladies. Have you heard of GAL-antines? It’s a party inspired by the show Parks & Rec where Leslie Knope throws a Galantine’s party for her lady friends — waffles and friendship. It’s ladies celebrating ladies.

We kept it very low-key with simple decorating and food. Here is one of the simple projects I created for the GALantine’s party: A 10-Minute Sharpie Tablecloth.

I knew I wanted to create a simple pattern for the tablecloth. I thought about what I wanted to draw. Hearts were a pattern I considered. I also thought a simple XOXO striped tablecloth would have been cute. You can draw ANYTHING you want on your tablecloth.

In the end I drew a simple scallop pattern with hearts. I think it turned out really cute. Simple but it echoed the heart theme of our GALantine’s party!

I love Dollar Tree’s seasonal decor area. They have great wreath forms. I took their heart wreath form, covered it with adorable black and white heart fabric to make a festive focal point for our Valentine’s Day Mantel. The grapevine hearts are also from Dollar Tree. I painted the hearts red, pink and white, then tied them with my favorite XOXO ribbon for an easy and inexpensive Valentine’s Day mantel!

Dollar Store Valentine Heart Wreath

Hi friends! It’s officially February and the perfect time to make an easy Valentine’s Day project for your home! I am sharing how I made this sweet black and white valentine heart wreath. It’s perfect to hang over a mantel, shelf or on your front door!

Dollar Store Wreath

I love the dollar store for inexpensive ways to decorate for the holidays! It’s a wonderful resource for wreath forms. This heart wreath form is so inexpensive and it allows for endless crafting possibilities. A couple of years ago I used three of these same wreath forms to create a Triple Heart Wreath for our front door. I’ve also linked this tutorial at the end of the post. I knew this wreath form would be the perfect size to hang on our pretty mirror above our fireplace.

Only a Few Materials Needed to Make a Valentine Heart Wreath

One of the things I love about this project is it only takes FOUR supplies to make! And it is so inexpensive. I used this black and white material I found at Hobby Lobby, but you can use ANY material you want. You can also use old sweaters and make it into a cozy sweater wreath which would be so cute! Here’s how to make it!

Dollar Store Valentine Heart Wreath Directions

First, gather your supplies:

• Dollar Store Heart Wreath Form (I found my wreath form at the Dollar Store, but if you can’t access one or want to order a wreath form online that comes to your home – here are some similar ones: Metal Heart Wreath Form.
• Toilet Paper
• Ribbon (I used XOXO ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby, here is some similar ribbon – XOXO Ribbon)
• Fabric (I used black and white heart fabric – here is some similar fabric – Heart Fabric)

Steps to Make a Valentine Heart Wreath

Wrap Wreath Form

The metal wreath form has hard edges which will show through fabric. It looks better if you soften those edges. A few materials you can use to soften the edges are: an old towel, fabric, cheesecloth, batting. The cheapest and most accessible material is toilet paper. Wrap the form with whatever material you want. If you are using toilet paper, wrap the toilet paper around the wreath form several times because it is so thin.

Cut Fabric

Now cut your fabric into 4-5 inch wide strips. Unless you are using a very long piece of material, you will use several strips of fabric to cover the wreath form. You don’t want the edges of the cut material to show. The way that I do this is start on the back of the wreath form with the first piece of fabric. Then I wrap that around as long as the strip is. If the end of the first strip ends on the front of the wreath form, cut the fabric so that it ends on the back and all of the cut edges are on the back.

How to Wrap Fabric Strips Around Wreath Form

You can use a glue gun to attach the fabric to the toilet paper (or whatever material you are using) but I usually just wrap it up and don’t need to use hot glue. Take the second piece of fabric and start that piece where the last piece ended and continue to wrap the wreath form, overlapping the fabric by 1 inch. The overlapping will hold the fabric together so you don’t need to use hot glue. Continue wrapping until the whole wreath form is covered. End the last piece at the back of the wreath form and tuck the end under one of the overlaps to hold it in place.

Add Ribbon

Now you can add ribbon to the top of the wreath for decoration but also as a way to hang the wreath up. Hang up your wreath and enjoy it!! So easy, right??

My Favorite Things This Week!

Happy weekend, friends! How was your week? We got back on track this week after being quarantined last week. It felt good to get back into a routine. Our FIP kitten, Pumpkin is doing pretty well. We switched her over to tablets instead of the injections because my vet thinks she is allergic to the liquid in the injection liquid. It is much easier on all of us doing the pills. I hope they will be as effective in treating her disease. I also have SO many Valentine projects to share! Three Ingredient Challenge

I’ve teamed up with some creative blogging friends to create a Valentine’s Day idea using three basic ingredients — paper, ribbon and washi tape.

We all came up with our own take on the challenge and I LOVE all of the different ideas!

Simple Valentine’s Day Gifts

I host a little dinner for my kids each Valentine’s Day! We eat food they like — pizza or curry and spend time together! It’s one of my favorite things to do. I always set a cute table and have a little favor on their plate. This year I created a simple gift with colorful paper. The paper is from Pebbles new Valentine’s Day line. I used some paper with pretty foil on it. And they have a fun llama paper – my daughter loves lambs and llamas so I used that paper for her gift!

Printable Typewriter Sentiment Sayings

I thought it would be fun to add a little saying to the front of each bag. I created a simple typewriter printable sentiment sheet with easy valentine’s day words and sayings.

Large and Small Typewriter Printable Sentiment Sizes

I created two different sizes of fonts for the printable sentiment sheets. Depending on the size of the gift you are giving you can print off the large OR the small sheets.

Create Simple Paper Bag Gifts

Supplies:

Scrapbook Paper

Small Gift Bags or Boxes

Ribbon

Washi Tape

Adhesive

Printable Typewriter Saying Sheet (you can grab them by right-clicking on the links at the bottom of the page)

Tissue Paper

Directions:

1. Trim the scrapbook paper to the size of the front of your bags or boxes
2. Use adhesive to attach the paper to the front of the bags of boxes
3. Cut out the printable typewriter sayings you want to use.
4. Use washi tape to attach the sayings onto the front of your gifts.
5. Tie some ribbon around the box or the handles of the gift bags.
6. Add some tissue paper to your bags.
