I’m so happy that the #1905Cottage addition is almost done!! I am just in love with this little home. There isn’t room for a mudroom and I knew I needed a place for my kids to take off their winter boots and keep their backpacks. And as I was perusing the Better Homes and Gardens items at Walmart I was looking for a way to create this functional space in my garage.

I saw this BHG Entertainment center and I thought with a few alterations it could make a great locker area! And I was so excited when I measured the space in my garage and saw that the dimensions fit exactly!

I ordered the entertainment center and it was even on sale. It came right to my house and I put it together in one night. I left the glass shelves off and the shelves are perfect to store shoes. The cabinet area juts out enough that it makes a perfect bench. I hung some hooks on the back of the unit for coats and backpacks. And there are some little cubbies at the top that are perfect as charging stations for phones and game devices, or sunglasses or keys.

And for under $200 – it was perfect for my budget!

I also found a cushioned storage bench which is perfect for storing hats and mittens during the winter months.

I love pulling into the garage and seeing this happy, organized space!
