Free Birthday Waffle Bar Ideas & Printables!!

For my daughter’s 16th birthday, I decided to do something different from the usual cake celebration. I created a fun and interactive waffle bar for her and her friends. A waffle bar is a great alternative to a traditional birthday cake and offers a delicious and customizable experience for everyone. Here’s how I set it up and some ideas to inspire your own birthday waffle bar!

Easy Waffle Preparation with Cake Mix

One of the best parts about setting up a waffle bar is how easy it is to prepare the waffles. Instead of using waffle mix, I used cake mix, which adds a delightful sweetness and texture. Simply follow the instructions on the cake mix box, and you’ll have perfectly delicious waffles ready in no time.

Printable Waffle Labels

These Waffle Toppings Tags printables I made are 3 per page. Right-click this link or the image below and choose “save as” to download the PDF.

To keep things organized and add a fun touch, I created printable waffle labels. You can print these out and write the types of toppings on each label. This way, your guests will know exactly what each topping is, making it easier for them to customize their waffles.

Topping Ideas for Your Waffle Bar

One of the best things about a waffle bar is the variety of toppings you can offer. Here are some ideas to get you started:

• Syrups: Maple syrup, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, and fruit syrups.
• Fruits: Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, and any other fruits your family or friends enjoy.
• Other Toppings: Hot fudge sauce, sprinkles, whipped cream, ice cream, nuts, and shredded coconut.

Keeping Waffles Warm

To ensure that all your guests enjoy warm waffles, you can make them ahead of time. Place the cooked waffles on a cookie sheet and keep them in your oven at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This will keep them warm without overcooking them. Once the waffles are done, take them out and put them on a platter, ready to be served.

Setting Up Your Topping Station

Once your waffles are ready, it’s time to set up your topping station. Arrange all your toppings in bowls or jars and place the printable waffle labels by each topping. This will make it easy for your guests to see and choose their favorite toppings. You can also add serving spoons or tongs to make it easy to serve each topping.

Other Waffle Ideas

If you want to take your waffle bar to the next level, here are some other waffle ideas to consider:

• Churro Waffles with Dulce de Leche Topping
• Savory Waffles
• The Fluffiest Waffle Recipes
• Morning Protein Egg Waffle Bar
• Pumpkin Spice Waffles

These options can add even more variety and fun to your waffle bar, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Birthday Waffle Bar Ideas

Creating a waffle bar for a birthday or event is a fun and unique way to celebrate. With easy preparation, a variety of toppings, and the option to keep waffles warm, your guests will have a great time customizing their own delicious creations. Don’t forget to use the printable waffle labels to keep everything organized and add a special touch to your waffle bar. Enjoy the celebration and the smiles on everyone’s faces as they dig into their personalized waffle creations!

As always, these are for personal use only!

Have a Beautiful Day!

We had such a BLAST having the kids over for a summer Pancake Party!

We set up the party in our side yard.

My husband cooked HUGE batches of Lemon Ricotta Pancakes on our outdoor griddle.

You can grab the recipe plus the recipe for the homemade blueberry sauce here.

Then the kids headed over to the pancake topping station.

Where add syrups, fruits, whipped cream and even candy to their pancakes.

It’s so easy to throw this party.

It would be an awesome Last Day of School party, summer birthday party, neighborhood party or just a chance to have the neighbors over for fun this summer!

Grab the adorable invitations and personalize them with YOUR information:

If you want to print these in the large sizes like I did – just send them to Costco and they can print them within a day usually. The big posters are 20×30, then I framed an 11/14 and a 8×10 and had all of those printed at costco too!

And be sure to grab the YUMMY recipe and make Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with homemade blueberry sauce. It’s perfect to make every weekend!

Throw a Summertime Pancake Party!

Summertime is the perfect time to throw a pancake party! Invite the neighborhood kids for a fun morning eating the most delicious lemon ricotta pancakes. It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer!

Cook Pancakes Outside on a Griddle

We invited some special friends over the other morning and had an awesome time serving pancakes outside on our griddle and being silly.

We broke out of new Blackstone 36″ Griddle Cooking Station – it is the ultimate way to cook outdoors. My husband cant wait to take it camping. it’s really cool because it has fold-able legs so we can put it in the back of the car for our camping trip.

You can cook basically anything on the griddle – eggs, pancakes, meats, veggies. We are actually using it on Father’s Day for a big family brunch to make a GIANT batch of hash browns and bacon – yum! And it would be PERFECT to cook up pancakes for a neighborhood Fourth of July breakfast. I also love that you can take the griddle off for EASY cleanup!

Create a Backyard Party

The Blackstone griddle surface heated so evenly, the pancakes cooked up in minutes. They were SO good! We have a very small side yard that we haven’t really used. I decided to make a little party space there and it was fun seeing it come to life. I put a farmhouse picnic table in the corner of the side yard with a festive striped umbrella. We put our new grill next to the table. Then I spray painted an old cart and turned it into a pancake topping station.

Pancake Topping Station

We whipped up the pancakes and then the kids headed over to the topping station and put fruit, whipped cream and whatever else they wanted on their pancakes. It was the first gathering that we hosted in our new party side yard and it was SO fun!

Prep Time 10 minutes minutes

Cook Time 20 minutes minutes

Total Time 30 minutes minutes

Servings 8

Ingredients

• 1.5 cups water you can also use milk if you want
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup ricotta cheese
• 2 tablespoons grated lemon zest
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 tablespoons white sugar
• 2 large eggs, separated
• 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
• 4 tablespoons melted butter
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 2 1/4 cups self-rising flour

Blueberry Sauce

• 2 cups fresh blueberries
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 3/4 cup orange juice
• 1/2 cup water
• 4 tablespoons corn starch
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
• 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Instructions

• In a mixing bowl, mix water and baking soda until combined. Then add ricotta cheese, lemon zest, suga, egg yolks and almond extract.

• Melt butter in microwave and add melted butter to mixing bowl.
• Add lemon juice and flour to mixing bowl and mix until everything is incorporated.
• Pour batter into a medium mixing bowl. Wash mixing bowl out and add egg whites to clean mixing bowl. Whip egg whites until fluffy peaks form. Gently fold whipped egg whites into pancake batter. Let batter sit while you make blueberry sauce.

Blueberry Sauce

• In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries, 1/3 cup water, orange juice, sugar and lemon zest. Stir and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes or until the blueberries are soft and sauce thickens slightly.

• In a small bowl combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Gently stir the cornstarch mixture into the blueberry mixture on the stove. Simmer and sauce will get noticeable thicker.
• Keep cooking until sauce is desired consistency.
• Take pan off stove and add almond extract and lemon extract. Stir and serve.

Make pancakes!

• Heat griddle to medium-high heat. Grease griddle, then and add two large spoonfuls of pancake mix for each pancake, smooth them to creating circles. Let cook 3-4 minutes, until surface of pancake starts to bubble and the edges of the pancakes start to look drier, then flip over and cook an additional 3-4 minutes.

• Because these pancakes have ricotta cheese they take a little longer to cook that regular pancakes. If you find that your pancakes are not cooking all the way through in the middle, you can turn your griddle down to medium heat and cook  each side 5 minutes. They will rise as they cook and become fluffy!

Summertime Grilling Ideas

We LOVED using our new Blackstone 36-inch Griddle Cooking Station. It is extremely sturdy and well made. The pancakes cooked so evenly. We can’t wait to use it all summer and even take it camping! You can get one through Walmart.com.

We also used the Blackstone Toolset which was so nice – it includes 2 spatulas, one with perforations for non-stick applications; 1 chopper/scrapper to dice foods or clean griddle, 2 dispensers for liquids and I can’t wait to try Blackstone recipe cookbook! You can also order the toolset from Walmart.com.

I hope you enjoyed this Kids’ Pancake Party idea!

Have a FUN day!
