Hello everyone! My name is Michelle and I blog over at Delicate Construction where I like to make things that are adorable, affordable and attainable and that is exactly what I have to share with you today!

Home Made Paper Beads

I have loved every piece of Jen’s new line, especially the Pebbles Paper Pad, and I had the hardest time choosing what to make because every pattern and piece is so cute! I decided to go old school and make a new version of something I loved to make in middle school- paper beads. It came to my mind while talking with friends and once I saw the paper pack, I immediately had to give it a try!

These are easy, fun and rather addictive to make and are a great project for kids and moms alike. I also think they would be the perfect craft for sleep over, lazy afternoon, Tuesday, whatever. Plus it is also a great use of scraps! Here is what you need for these fun and easy paper bracelets:

• Pebbles 12×12 Paper Pad
• Paper Trimmer
• Glue Stick
• Add a Bead Bracelet with Magnetic Clasp

Cut Paper Strips

The first thing I did was cut long narrow triangle strips of paper that were 12 inches long at at the base around 1/4-1/2 inch wide. I didn’t feel like this was something that needed to be measured because I liked that every bead was slightly different.

Then I started at the wide end and began tightly rolling up the triangle.

Roll Up Paper Strips

Once I had rolled it a few times, I got out the glue stick and applied glue the entire length of the remaining triangle.

Let it Finish Drying

After it was all rolled up, I held it in my hand for about 30 seconds and then set it aside to finish drying. It didn’t take long before they were ready to add to my bracelet base. I love these magnetic clasp bases where you simply unscrew one of the clasps, add you beads and reattach the clasp and done! No pliers or scissors needed!

String Into a Bracelet or Necklace

I loved the bracelet, but truth be told, my daughter stole it… but that is the natural order of things, isn’t it? I hope you liked this tutorial and give it a try and let me know in the comments!

For this project, you will need..

• Assorted wood beads
• 5-6 statement beads (optional)
• Rat tail cording
• Scissors
• Cord end caps
• Needle-nosed pliers
• Jump rings
• Toggle clasp
• Ribbon (optional)

Cut a length of the cording that is the length you want your necklace to be. (I cut mine to 16″.) Attach one of the cord end caps to one end of the cording piece.

Thread the beads onto the cording in your desired configuration, mixing the wood beads with the statement beads, if using. Continue adding beads until 1/4″ or so of cording remains on the opposite end.

Affix another cord end cap to the remaining raw end of the cording. Using the need-nosed pliers, affix the toggle clasp pieces to the end cap pieces, connecting each with a jump ring.

If desired, tie a small bow along the side of the necklace, as shown.

Your wood bead necklace is complete!

I always like to give my wardrobe a little update when seasons change, and there is no better way to so than by adding a few new pieces of jewelry to my collection. Wood beaded necklaces are a simple, fun project that I can make inexpensively, which means I can have 3-4 new pieces instead of a single piece purchased ready-made!

These necklaces are one of my favorite things to make with my 7-year-old daughter. She loves to mix and match the beads to create lots of different looks to wear with her favorite outfits!

Summer is right around the corner and what better way to CELEBRATE, then with PINWHEELS!!! Who, doesn’t absolutely LOVE pinwheels? Everybody, Right?!?!

I have made Paper Pinwheels, Fabric Pinwheels and Plastic Pinwheels, but I have always wanted to make clay pinwheels. Our girls LOVE wearing jewelry but they especially LOVE wearing the Jewelry, their Brother makes for them.

YES!!! One of our older sons, absolutely LOVES working with Polymer Clay. He is always making something fun,that the whole family gets to enjoy. From toys, special figurines and even jewelry pieces.

The girls got to thinking about some fun jewelry pieces, they might enjoy wearing for Summer. I thought this would be a PERFECT time to make some Pinwheel Jewelry, and they all couldn’t agree more.

So Pinwheels it was going to be and LOTS of them. A girl can never have enough pieces of Jewelry, especially multiple COLORS of them.

Making the Pinwheels is SUPER easy!

You will need Polymer Clay ( in colors of choice )

Rolling tool (chop stick, small cylinder of sorts, small rolling pin etc.. )

Scissors, Jewelry Pieces ( Ring & Earring bases, Ball & Chain or Other Necklace material, Pin Eyes, Jewelry Glue or

Super Glue, Clear Coat Sealer, Baking Pan and Oven.

Take a small piece of clay, roll it out into a SQUARE like shape, we rolled ours out to approx. 1/8″. Cut the uneven edges with your scissors, making a (nicely shaped ) square. Cut slits in each 4 of the corners to just about the center.

Begin taking your TIPS of the corners and fold them into the CENTER of your Square. Take the OPPOSITE tip and fold it into the center. Do this until you have 4 of your Tips in the Center.

You can make Varying Sizes for, Necklaces, Earrings, Rings etc…

Following the instructions on your, Polymer Clay Packaging, bake until done.

Allow them to cool, Seal with a Sealer and attach to your Jewelry pieces as seen HERE.

You can add little beads or small pieces of Clay to your pinwheel center.

This collection of Pinwheel Jewelry, has to be one of my Favorites so far. They are just so CUTE and way to much FUN!

SERIOUSLY!!! How cute is this Pinwheel ring, so CUTE, RIGHT?!?!

The colors and sizing are endless.

You can have so much FUN making them to match your SUMMER outfits.

Layering them!

Or making someone very HAPPY with presenting them as a gift!

So Dress up your SUMMER with Cuteness. Pull out that Polymer Clay of yours and start Pinwheeling it!

My name is Bev and I blog over at Flamingo Toes.

Over at Flamingo Toes I love sharing jewelry and sewing projects, home dÈcor, recipes, and pretty much anything else that sounds fun!
I especially love holiday projects – I get pretty caught up in decorating the house and making new things! Which you would know if you could see all the storage boxes in the garage. Mr. F.T. just loves all those boxes.

For my post today, I wanted to combine a couple of my favorite things – Christmas and jewelry.
I have a super quick and really easy tutorial for today for these Winter Wonderland – DIY Snow Globe necklaces!

Aren’t they sweet?! I promise they are super easy. You can easily make them up even if you have never made jewelry before. Promise.

You could even make up a few as early gifts, hostess thank you’s, or even make up a bunch at a crafty Christmas party!

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own wee snow globe necklace:

Snow Globe Kit
(there are lots of shops that carry these on Etsy, in different styles and shapes.
Mine came from here.)
1″ tall bottle brush trees
1 jump ring
24″ necklace, or chain, lobster clasp, 2 more jump rings
E-6000 Glue, toothpick

Your snow globe kit should come with a globe, base and a little top bail with ring.

Cut the wood base off your tiny tree with wire cutters. Point the base away from you or anyone nearby to avoid getting a tree stump in your eye.

Add a good amount of E-6000 glue to the center of the base of the globe and glue the tree in place. You’ll want to wait until the tree is pretty sturdy and the glue is starting to hold before assembling the globe to the base.

While you’re waiting for the tree to dry, add a small dab of glue to the bottom of the bail piece and glue to the top of the dome.

Once your parts are all dry, add glue to the inside edge of the base. A toothpick works great for applying the glue.

Fit your globe down over the tree onto the base. Hold in place until the glue has started to set.

Once your globe is dried, add a small jump ring to the ring on the top. Feed a necklace through the ring to finish off your necklace.

Here’s a little gift idea that makes a great wedding gift, a Christmas present or even a gift for yourself!

A Vintage/Modern Recipe Box.

Plus, free printable recipe dividers too!

Here’s how to make them:

I started off with these simple unfinished wooden recipe boxes.

• I spray painted the boxes.

• I printed off the “Recipes” vinyl on my Silhouette and reversed out the vinyl and stenciled the letters with craft paint.

• I sanded down the edges to give the box a vintage feel.

•  I took some lace and wrapped it around the middle of the box.

• I glued a pretty pendant from the {Styled By Tori} jewelry line on the front of the box.

• I made up some printable recipes tabs if you want to use them. Once you print them off, just trim around the edges and put them in the box.

You can fill the box with a few of your favorite recipes too — that would make a wonderful gift! Another idea you can make, is instead of stenciling the word “Recipes” on the top, you can put the couple’s initials on the front.

And here’s the printable — just download and print on cardstock!

I was really impressed with how genuine Tori is. After the show I checked out Tori’s EdiTORIal blog — she has a real love of being creative.

I can’t decide which collection I love the most.

The thing I love most about the collection is that you can mix and match pieces from all of the different collections to make YOUR own look!!

It was so exciting to get a package in the mail the other day full of {Styled} By Tori Spelling pieces. My girls and I had such an awesome time mixing and matching items to create all kinds of jewelry combinations.

Hannah loved the Boho collection most.

And I love that you can make a new necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings in just 5 minutes!

There are three easy steps:

You just select a Necklace Top, a Necklace Bottom and a connector.

You can also add a pin or brooch to your creation. And another thing I love about the brooches/pins is that they have connectors to connect them to the necklaces, but they also have pins so you can use them alone on a jacket or purse. And everything is easy to to change and switch up!!

Step 1: Clip the jump-ring from one side of the necklace top to the jump-ring on the necklace bottom.

Step 2: Repeat for the other side.

Step 3: (optional) Add a pendant to customize the look.

And in less than 5 minutes you can have a necklace that is ready to wear!

I made a necklace with the Glam collection:

I also attached a pendant to the side of the necklace

And the connectors are so easy to use. They have a hinged section that folds in when you press on it, so all you need to do is slip the rings inside and your necklace is ready to wear!

My daughter even made a necklace to wear to the prom from this line. I will share that soon.
