This week I’m continuing my new favorite things of the week posts! Since I started blogging 12 years ago, one of my favorite things was sharing YOUR ideas! I hosted a link up party each week and I LOVED featuring the recipes, DIY ideas and crafts that were linked up!

My Favorite Projects This Week

If you’ve been following along on my keto journey you know I’m always trying to recreate my favorite recipes. This week I shared this totally delicious recipe for a Cheesy Low-Carb Taco Bake that makes a perfect keto meal on a bed of greens.

In my Instagram stories yesterday I shared some progress on using removable wallpaper in my kitchen.

Jen over at Rambling Renovators finished up her Coastal Basement Remodel last week and I am absolutely obsessed with the results. I love the pulls she used–I’m going to be using them when I remodel my kitchen!

I can’t get enough of Sarah’s projects over at All Things With Purpose. She has the most incredible design sense AND she remodels RVs and trailers, something I have always wanted to do! She is one of my favorite instagrams to follow over @purposeblog.

Another Instagram I can’t get enough of is The House that Lars Built @HouseLarsBuilt. Brittany has such a singular eye for color, and her bright posts always make my day when they show up in my feed. I loved this flower light strand garland she posted about yesterday!

My Home Decor Secret Weapon: Rugs!

Nothing adds as much to a room as quietly and effectively as the perfect rug. The right accent rug can tie the whole space together like nothing else! This week I want to share some of the rugs I’m using in my house and some that I think could be cute for upcoming room ideas.

A few weeks ago I shared this bright pink medallion rug I’ve been using as a runner on my front porch. It’s on super sale for just about $40 right now!

I also love this pink and orange rug I’m using right now in my living room. The pop of color is the secret that ties together all the decor. It’s no secret that I love to decorate based on the accent color I’m using for my rug! It’s on a huge sale right now too, just $160 for the 8′ by 10′!

This Diamond Textured Trellis Tassel Rug I’m using in my office is one of my favorites ever! It keeps the room bright and has tons of texture in its unique design. The dogs love to snuggle up on it, too–for better or worse!

I still love this Textured Stucco Tassel Rug I used in our living room for half a year. It was perfect for brightening the room and sitting to play games around the table!

The rug I’m using in our bedroom right now is this Chroma Iris Fading Oriental Medallion Rug. I love its classic look and feel, and it brings all the colors in our bedroom together perfectly.

In my last house I used this Savanna Herati Medallion rug (on sale right now for about $125) to tie together the business of my craft and office space. It’s still one of my favorites because of how unique the design feels!

Those of you who’ve been following me over the years probably already know that I can’t live without my Silhouette Cameo. It’s helped me with so many projects over the years with its flexible printing. You can get it on amazon for about $280 right now!

Acrylic Paint Markers

Another secret weapon of mine are as simple as a set of Acrylic Paint Markers ($15 on Amazon!). I used these most recently to create this DIY Summertime Painted Kiwi Pitcher, and I love how flexible they are for different projects and there is nothing that’s easier to work with.

My Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine

A home decor classic, I couldn’t make this list without mentioning my Heavy Duty Singer Sewing Machine ($320 on Amazon right now). It’s the easiest time I’ve ever had with a sewing machine, and it helps me with every project! My Favorite Projects This Week

I’m obsessed with the bold colors and patterns of Melissa’s latest downloadable fabric design for Nesting Polka Dot Baskets! Her designs are always so simple to replicate, so cute in the home, and (maybe most importantly) actually useful to store things in!

Another project I loved this week was the Amy from Ameroonie’s Rainbow Village and Mini Rainbow Quilt. You have to check out these two absolutely amazing projects that can add pops of color in your house using some of the cutest fabrics I’ve ever seen.

This week I have just fallen in love with Courtney’s instagram feed over @zigandcompany on Instagram. I love her playful use of color and textures across her home and what a bright presence she is in my feed. Go give her a follow!

A Colorful Life Home Tour

Yesterday I posted a home tour and shared some tips for adding splashes of color across the house. I’m so excited to be participating in the A Colorful Life Home Tour with some of my favorite bloggers!

I love Jennifer’s (from Dimples and Tangles) living room so much! She has such an eye for mixing some of my favorite patterns and textures (the brick around the fireplace, the buffalo check lampshades, and the plaid in bookshelf) while sticking to bright colors and making sure everything looks just perfect.

I love the pops of yellow in Tiffany’s (from My Eclectic Nest) family room! It’s the perfect way to make it playful against the basics of her lovely wooden floor and white walls.

I’m totally obsessed with the hot-pink accent wall Brenda created for her daughters’ room! You can see more about that room and her beautiful bright kitchen over at BD Interiors.

I can’t stop fawning over Carmel’s beautifully bright kitchen. The wood-accented stove hood and the blue of the kitchen island are my two favorite details, but there’s so much more to love.

There’s something so summery and perfect about the patio Camila from Effortless Style Interiors’ redesigned for her mom! There’s nothing like a bright spot to spend the summer afternoons. My absolute favorite place to spend time these days has been my patio!

I’ve done a little round-up of some of my favorite things from my home tour help you with some inspiration for your own decorating!

Buffalo check table runners have always been one of my favorite dining room accents–and they’re only $7 on Amazon right now!

Another kitchen favorite is a couple of bright turkish cacala towels. They’re available on Amazon too for about $12 in over two dozen different colors.

One of my kids’ favorite things in my living room are these pom throw blankets. They look super cute and are soft enough for kids to cuddle up in for movie night.

A few artificial flowers in key colors can go a long way in decorating and redecorating your house. Here are some fake peonies in a ton of different colors, and they’re only about $10 per bunch!

The first thing you see when you walk up to my front door is this double hanging rattan chair from Serena and Lily. It’s my favorite place to watch the world go by with my husband, kids, or dogs—depending on the day!

I just got a pair of these Safavieh Dining Chairs from Overstock and I love how they accent my dining room! They’re out of stock on the wooden ones right now, but here is a white version I like just as much.

I’ve had SO many questions about the egg chair in our family room and out on our back patio. I bought TWO because I love it so much!! This Southport Egg Patio chair from Target is one of my all-time favorite pieces of furniture I’ve ever bought. It’s extra wide so two people can sit in it too. And It goes perfect with just about any accent colors and complementary furniture.

I recently visited the Walmart headquarters and got the super secret inside scoop on their Black Friday sales – and they are awesome!! Plus I have the inside scoop on ways that shopping at Walmart on Black Friday Walmart is making it easier to get your hands on the hottest deals and check out in lightning speed so you can get back to spending time with your family! 

Black Friday Walmart Tips

1. Walmart App

The Walmart App makes shopping at Walmart a breeze. Be sure to use it on Black Friday to save you time.

• Download and open the Walmart App
• Click on May Your Deals
• Find the location of your items

The Black Friday Walmart event begins with Coffee and Cookies at 4 pm and the sales go live at 6pm (except where prohibited by law). When the sales begin the Walmart app will drop a pin in the aisle of each product with the exact location.

2. Color Coding

Another great idea Walmart’s implementing is COLOR coding. Each department has a different color. When you go into the store you can see the different departments by color with their signage. It makes finding things so easy. This is also true in the Walmart app. There will also be balloons on Black Friday by color in each department to help you easily navigate your Black Friday Shopping.

3. Special checkers to get you checked out faster!

This year Walmart will have associates in each Walmart that will use use a mobile app to check you out in each department for on-the-spot service! No need to wait in line at the front of the store!

Amazon is SO convenient! I love being able to order something and within two days it magically appears on my doorstep! And as a busy mom of 4 (5 now with my step-daughter) and a business owner, online shopping is SO convenient. Amazon is really great about keeping prices low, an amazing selection of pretty much ANYTHING, plus free shipping. I also love that Amazon helps small businesses and entrepreneurs sell through their service. You can find practically anything — toys, electronics, kitchen, jewelry, apparel, sports, tools, books, music, movies and crafting supplies!!

Today Amazon begins their 12 Days of Deals! Each day, Amazon will feature NEW products with incredible prices!! Be sure to check each day as Amazon unveils that day’s deals! Monday, December 4th is DIY day. As a crafter, I want to share some of my favorite DIY items with you that you can add to your shopping list. These all make amazing gift ideas – and there are a few with YOUR name on them that might even find their way into your basket. goodness!

This is the sewing machine I LOVE — Singer Simple Machine! I have tried a few different machines and wasn’t happy with any sewing machines until I found this one. I taught myself how to sew about 6 years ago. I don’t do any fancy sewing but I DO sew some unusual materials – like the slipcovers I sewed out of drop cloths. So I needed something that was heavy duty and would last. This machine is super affordable.

It has a few basic stitches. I’ve been using it for quite a few years now and I have NEVER had any trouble. I actually am giving this machine to my daughter for Christmas this year (shhhhhh – don’t tell) and I can’t wait. PLUS it now comes in this adorable color. I want this color for myself!!

A die cut machine is a wonderful tool for making all kinds of projects — from cards, to cutting felt for pillows and home decor projects. This Spellbinders Platinum 6 Kit has all of the essentials — the die cut machine, some great die cut shapes, a little case for your accessories and more. It would make an awesome gift!

Colorful Pens are an essential in creating projects. I love this Tombow Dual Brush Pen set because it has amazing colors. PLUS two different tips. The brushes at the top are amazing for calligraphy projects. The smaller tips at the bottom are fine and great for printing. I love that the colors are blendable so the sky is the limit when creating colors. They are also acid-free which is a must if you are archiving projects for scrapbooking or journaling. My girls love to use these pens.

Canon TS2180 printer

A reliable printer is a must for anyone. I love creating printables on my site. I have been a fan of Canon for years. It’s the printer I use. I also love that this Canon TS8120 printer is wireless and has a scanner and copier built right in. You can print photos out as well as prints for your home.

Everyone needs a handy set of tools! This Black & Decker Drill and Project set has 68 awesome tools. The lithium battery in this drill holds a charge for up to 18 months. Amazing! All of the basic tools are included and there is a case to keep everything together. This kit includes all of the basics to do almost any kind of DIY project for your home. I love giving this kit to newlywed couples or college graduates getting started in life!

I am a HUGE fan of paint sprayers. I love to paint things – often several times over. A paint sprayer is SUPER fast and so much easier than traditionally painting with a brush. And instead of being limited to a certain number of colors like you are with spray paint cans, a paint sprayer gives you UNLIMITED paint color potential. I also love that with this Wagner Spray Paint machine you can control the spray settings for different projects. This is the paint sprayer I own and recommend.

Every crafter needs a simple paper cutter. This Fiskars Surecut Delux trimmer is super easy to use. It has a wide base and it very accurate.

I’ve been using and talking about Silhouette for over 7 years. I have created literally hundreds of projects with my Silhouette machines over the years. I am continually amazed at the advances Silhouette continually makes as their machines get better and better! The new Silhouette Cameo 3 has bluetooth, touchscreen and a 1-year warranty. It can cut a HUGE variety of materials including paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and other material up to 12 inches wide and 10 feet long!

I use it to create my GIANT signs I make for all different seasons and occasions. Anyone creative needs a Silhouette.

How cute would a canvas picture be as a Christmas gift this year for your husband, your in-laws, you parents or sisters and brothers? Great idea!!  I was also thinking about having a black and white picture printed of each of my kids and then grouping them together on one of my walls. I love that idea!

Update — the first frame is free, additional frames are 50% off.  So if you did want to do something with a picture of your kids or a picture of you, one of your husband, and then one of each of your kids you could do that!
