Candy Coal Recipe:
(you will need parchment paper and a candy thermometer for this recipe)

Ingredients-

• 1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
• 2 cups Granulated Sugar
• Water
• Black Food Coloring (optional)
• 1/2 teaspoon Flavor Extract (optional)

Directions-

• Combine corn syrup, water and sugar in a medium saucepan on medium/high heat.
• Use a candy thermometer and boil mixture until the temperature reaches hard crack (305 degrees).
• Once it reaches 305 degrees immediately remove the candy from the burner and stir in food coloring and flavor extract.
• Immediately pour into a parchment paper lined 9×9 pan. Work quickly as the candy will start to harden right away.
• Allow the candy to cool and harden. Once the candy has completely cooled gently tap with a meat tenderizer to break into candy size pieces.

You can dust the candy with a bit of confectioners sugar to keep it from sticking to one another and store in an airtight container.
