<p>Supplies Needed: <span id="more-58564"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58571" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/supplies-1024x678.jpg" alt="supplies" width="614" height="407" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/supplies-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/supplies-150x99.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/supplies-300x198.jpg 300w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/supplies.jpg 1430w" sizes="(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px" /></p>
<p>Cork Board Mason Jars (2 per child) Wire Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks Paint and Masking Tape or Painter’s Tape Large Numbers Small Chalkboard Ornaments (1 per mason jar) Chalkboard Marker Popsicle Sticks Washi Tape (optional) Clear Spray 1 piece of paper and clear tape</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58569" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-tape-off-the-board-808x1024.jpg" alt="mason jar chore chart tape off the board" width="646" height="819" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-tape-off-the-board-808x1024.jpg 808w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-tape-off-the-board-118x150.jpg 118w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-tape-off-the-board-236x300.jpg 236w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-tape-off-the-board.jpg 2020w" sizes="(max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px" /></p>
<p>Instructions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Paint the Cork Board. Tape off a design with tape or paint a design on the board. Once the tape is in the pattern you desire, smooth the edges of the tape down with your fingertips to make sure you have a sealed edge. Paint the board and let dry. Once dry, peel off the tape, revealing your design. Spray with clear spray to protect the paint.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58572" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/layout-1024x678.jpg" alt="layout" width="614" height="407" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/layout-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/layout-150x99.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/layout-300x198.jpg 300w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/layout.jpg 1170w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px" /></p>
<ul>
<li>Lay out the mason jars and large numbers on the board and mark where they will be placed. Make holes in the cork board where the wire will go though the board to secure the mason jars. Use a sharp object to punch holes in the cork board. Measure the placement so all of the mason jars will line up evenly on the board.</li>
<li>Use hot glue gun to glue on the large numbers.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58566" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-measure-the-holes-678x1024.jpg" alt="mason jar chore chart measure the holes" width="610" height="922" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-measure-the-holes-678x1024.jpg 678w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-measure-the-holes-99x150.jpg 99w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-measure-the-holes-198x300.jpg 198w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-measure-the-holes.jpg 1696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<ul>
<li>Cut a 16 inch section of wire for each Mason jar. Then wrap the middle of the wire around each Mason jar, securing it at the back of the jar by twisting it. The ridges at the top of the jar should hold the wire onto the mason jars. Then thread the wire through the holes that you punched out earlier. Once through the cork board, place an extra Popsicle stick at the back of the board and twist the remaining wire around the stick to secure it to the board.</li>
<li>Do this with each of the mason jars until they are all secured on the cork board.</li>
<li>Optional – to secure them even further, flip the board over and hot glue the wire and Popsicle sticks to the back of the board.</li>
<li>Use a piece of chalk or chalkboard pens to write on the chalkboard ornaments. I used “To Do” on the top chalkboards and “Done” on the bottom ones.</li>
<li>Then hot glue the chalkboard ornaments onto the mason jars.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58570" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-to-do-678x1024.jpg" alt="mason jar chore chart to do" width="610" height="922" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-to-do-678x1024.jpg 678w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-to-do-99x150.jpg 99w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-to-do-198x300.jpg 198w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-to-do.jpg 1696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<ul>
<li>The last thing to do is make the chore sticks. Use washi tape (optional) one design per child and wrap the washi tape around each of the Popsicle sticks. Then write or type out the chores on a piece of paper and cut into strips. Attach one chore to each Popsicle stick with clear tape.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-58567" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-print-out--678x1024.jpg" alt="mason jar chore chart print out" width="610" height="922" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-print-out--678x1024.jpg 678w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-print-out--99x150.jpg 99w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-print-out--198x300.jpg 198w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/mason-jar-chore-chart-print-out-.jpg 1696w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">When the Post-it Brand contacted me to make a DIY project using their products, I immediately thought of a chore chart. It&#8217;s a project that I&#8217;ve been meaning to make and something that we really need around here.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52721" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-printable-chore-chart-system.jpg" alt="post-it note printable chore chart system" width="650" height="981" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-printable-chore-chart-system.jpg 650w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-printable-chore-chart-system-99x150.jpg 99w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-printable-chore-chart-system-198x300.jpg 198w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">With kids ranging from elementary school through high school, I needed something that could accommodate all ages of kids and work for our family.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And I love the new array of Post-it Brand products. There are new colors, Post-it Super Sticky Notes and even Post-it Pockets and Post-it Full Adhesive Rolls. So fun!! For this project I used the Post-it Pockets, New Post-it Note Colors, Post-it Super-Sticky Full Adhesive Notes and Post-it Full Adhesive Rolls.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53368" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ElectricGlow.jpg" alt="ElectricGlow" width="546" height="360" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ElectricGlow.jpg 546w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ElectricGlow-150x98.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ElectricGlow-300x197.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 546px) 100vw, 546px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Here&#8217;s how I made the chore chart:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span id="more-52698"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52727" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-chore-chart-system-at-tatertts-and-jello.jpg" alt="post-it note chore chart system at tatertts and jello" width="650" height="981" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-chore-chart-system-at-tatertts-and-jello.jpg 650w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-chore-chart-system-at-tatertts-and-jello-99x150.jpg 99w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-note-chore-chart-system-at-tatertts-and-jello-198x300.jpg 198w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">So here&#8217;s the Post-it Note Chore Chart that I created with FREE printable templates and chore sheets!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I put it inside the door to our cleaning closet. It&#8217;s a central location on our main floor and close to the cleaning supplies the kids will need to do their chores.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52722" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/making-the-post-it-chore-chart-board.jpg" alt="making the post-it chore chart board" width="645" height="864" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/making-the-post-it-chore-chart-board.jpg 645w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/making-the-post-it-chore-chart-board-111x150.jpg 111w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/making-the-post-it-chore-chart-board-223x300.jpg 223w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To make the board, I took a sheet of beadboard, miter cut four flat moldings to fit around the frame and glued the molding onto the beadboard. Then I spray painted the board and got to work.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52717" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram.jpg" alt="post it chore chart on instagram" width="581" height="581" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram.jpg 581w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram-150x150.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram-300x300.jpg 300w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram-90x90.jpg 90w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/post-it-chore-chart-on-instagram-50x50.jpg 50w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For kids that can&#8217;t read, their chore Post-it Notes show chore icons. All the kids need to do is mark off each day that they do each chore. (There are seven boxes underneath each picture.)</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/put-the-finished-chore-in-the-pocket-chore-chart-system.jpg" alt="put the finished chore in the pocket chore chart system" width="389" height="549" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">At the end of the week, they fold the sticky side down and insert them into their Post-It Pocket.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53197" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/older-kids-chores-post-it-note-system-at-tatertots-and-jello2.jpg" alt="older-kids-chores-post-it-note-system-at-tatertots-and-jello2" width="650" height="431" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/older-kids-chores-post-it-note-system-at-tatertots-and-jello2.jpg 650w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/older-kids-chores-post-it-note-system-at-tatertots-and-jello2-150x99.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/older-kids-chores-post-it-note-system-at-tatertots-and-jello2-300x198.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For older kids, I have included a Chore Template.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">All you need to do is attach the Post-it Notes to the blank template, print off the Chore Template and then you can either hand-write in the chores on the Post-it Notes or you can print off the chores onto the same templates by running the paper through your printer again. In my system, my older kids can do their chores during the week. When they are done, they also fold the sticky edge down and put it in their Post-it Pocket. They can also browse the &#8220;Chores For Hire&#8221; jobs and do some of those during the week. At the end of the week, each child brings me the chores in their folder to show me what they have done during the week.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52724" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bonus-chore-printables-post-it-notes-at-tatertots-and-jello.jpg" alt="bonus chore printables post-it notes at tatertots and jello" width="650" height="431" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bonus-chore-printables-post-it-notes-at-tatertots-and-jello.jpg 650w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bonus-chore-printables-post-it-notes-at-tatertots-and-jello-300x199.jpg 300w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bonus-chore-printables-post-it-notes-at-tatertots-and-jello-150x99.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bonus-chore-printables-post-it-notes-at-tatertots-and-jello-640x424.jpg 640w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I have also included a template for &#8220;Chores For Hire&#8221; &#8212; these are chores are examples of things that are one-time BIG chores.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I put a dollar amount at the bottom of each task and my kids can decide which tasks they want to complete for a little extra cash. I made these as examples, but these are pretty major projects &#8212; otherwise I&#8217;d think I am paying them too much! The extra tasks I have are at least three or more hours &#8212; like Big Projects.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53198" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/put-the-done-chore-in-the-post-it-pocket-chore-chart-system2.jpg" alt="put-the-done-chore-in-the-post-it-pocket-chore-chart-system2" width="650" height="431" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/put-the-done-chore-in-the-post-it-pocket-chore-chart-system2.jpg 650w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/put-the-done-chore-in-the-post-it-pocket-chore-chart-system2-150x99.jpg 150w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/put-the-done-chore-in-the-post-it-pocket-chore-chart-system2-300x198.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></h3>
<p style="text-align: center;">And now: here&#8217;s how to make the project with the free printables!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">(Remember, if the printables seem too complex or time-consuming, you can do the same thing simply by using a marker on Post-it Notes. The kids might even enjoy writing their own chores or drawing their own pictures!)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And you can also use points as a reward instead of dollars. That way your kids can accumulate points which can equal a special prize or priveledge. And you can alter these printables if you have a copy of Adobe Illustrator.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Here&#8217;s a link to my post that walks you through <a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/2013/07/diy-secret-how-to-use-post-it-notes-in-your-printer-free-printable.html">How To Print on Post-it Notes.</a></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">First, you&#8217;ll definitely want a copy of <strong>the blank template</strong>. This shows you where to put your Post-it Notes so the other templates will print in the right place. Just put your Post-it Notes on the template &#8212; with the adhesive ends towards the top of the page &#8211;and load your Post-it-Note-covered page in the manual feed slot of your printer to print the next printables. I did a<a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/?p=52664" target="_blank"> whole post on how to print Post-it Notes in your printer</a>, so be sure to read that for additional help!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To download the template, just <a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello.pdf" target="_blank">right click this link</a> or the picture below and choose &#8220;Save As.&#8221; Then just print the PDF. You can print this as many times as you want to make your later printing easier.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello.pdf"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-52667" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello.png" alt="blank-post-it-note-3x3-template---tatertotsandjello" width="400" height="518" srcset="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello.png 500w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello-115x150.png 115w, https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blank-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello-231x300.png 231w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">You&#8217;ll place your Post-it Notes on top of the squares on the preceding template &#8230; and then load it back in the printer and use this printable to make your own chore chart!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Just click the image below or the link underneath to download the printable.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/chore-borders-post-it-note-3x3-template-tatertotsandjello.pdf"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52701" src="https://tatertotsandjello.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/chore-borders-printable-screen-shot.png" alt="chore borders printable screen shot" width="452" height="848" /></a></p>

Which basically means they pulled the thread out of my sewing maching when I wasn&#8217;t looking or like the time I left my scissors out by accident and Sophie cut up part of a dress I was working on&#8230;<em>seriously</em>, I was out of the room for <em>two</em> minutes! <em>How</em> do they get into these things so quickly?!?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">My husband travels a lot for work.  Which means, it&#8217;s typically just me and three young kids&#8230;.so I love blogging since it&#8217;s sometimes the only adult interaction I have for days at a time!  But I also love being inspired by all of you out there!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">So, what I want to share with you guys is super quick and easy&#8230;</span><strong><span style="font-size: x-large;">it&#8217;s a </span></strong><em><strong><span style="font-size: x-large;">decor friendly chore chart.</span></strong>  </em></p>
<p><em> </em>A couple years ago when I first started potty training someone gave me a magnetic chart for my kids&#8230;everytime they dowhat they were supposed to, they get to chose this little magnet sticker thing-a-ma-jig and put it on the chart.  They were nuts for it!  They still ask at least once a day to chose a sticker for using the potty, so I thought it would be a good way to encourage them to do their chores each day.</p>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Originally, I was going to make one out of felt, but I since I am <em><a href="http://wildflowersandwhimsy.blogspot.com/2011/03/little-home-tour-decorating-plans.html">finally decorating my house</a>,</em> after 2.5 years here,  I just didn&#8217;t want to put something kiddie on the wall after all the time and effort I am putting into decorating.  So</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">after many, many failed experiments, I finally came up with this:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Xc0oXPo0WDs/TXmnfKxww6I/AAAAAAAAO3g/zcOYQFa0UsQ/s1600/whole+project.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Xc0oXPo0WDs/TXmnfKxww6I/AAAAAAAAO3g/zcOYQFa0UsQ/s1600/whole+project.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a></div>
<p><span id="more-3620"></span><em></em></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><em>There are actually more cards than this, but because of all my mishaps with the others, I only had enough clothes pins left to hang up four&#8230;</em></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What you&#8217;ll need:</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Picture Frame (11&#8243; x 14&#8243; or bigger)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fabric</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Twine, cording, or string</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Cardstock</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Scrapbook paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Mini Clothes Pin Paper Clips (found mine at Wal-Mart in the office supplies)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Glue Stick</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Glue Gun &amp; Glue Sticks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-G-kgRvQD4Jw/TXQNz2gcA8I/AAAAAAAACuc/5l5lnYgkdHE/s1600/IMG_2580.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-G-kgRvQD4Jw/TXQNz2gcA8I/AAAAAAAACuc/5l5lnYgkdHE/s640/IMG_2580.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Take the cardboard out of your picture frame&#8230;mine didn&#8217;t have one since it was made by my grandfather so I just used a box cutter to cut some cardboard I had lying around down to size.  If you do this, you&#8217;ll want to measure the opening were the card board goes.  Chances are the little lip you set the glass/picture in is about 1/4&#8243;  so if you are working with say an 11&#8243; x 14&#8243; you&#8217;ll need to add that to the size of your cardboard&#8230;I had to cut mine 11.5&#8243; x 14.5&#8243;.  Then, cut your fabric out so that it is about 1&#8243; bigger than your cardboard all the way around.  Then, just hot glue it all the way around the back, folding the corners like you would when wrapping a present.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-0kxJ_q_w_Vk/TXQN77KcOUI/AAAAAAAACuk/qZLDGyqFghU/s1600/IMG_2655.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-0kxJ_q_w_Vk/TXQN77KcOUI/AAAAAAAACuk/qZLDGyqFghU/s640/IMG_2655.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Type out your chores/responsibilities along with your kids names and</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">s-m-t-w-t-f-s just below it&#8230;I recommend at least four spaces between each of the days and print them onto your card stock and cut them out.  I used some decorative scissors I had to make them a little cuter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I wanted mine all to be roughly 3&#8243; x 2&#8243;, but I basically just eyeballed it, and went with the size that looked good for what was on each card.  Next, I cut my scrapbook paper (I think this was actually textured cardstock, but whatever you like or have on hand will work just fine) into 3&#8243; strips, and used a glue stick to glue my chore cards on.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7sHI2Xs961I/TXmn7Uv2OBI/AAAAAAAAO3k/lIwBMtt2x0c/s1600/the+cards.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7sHI2Xs961I/TXmn7Uv2OBI/AAAAAAAAO3k/lIwBMtt2x0c/s640/the+cards.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I glued them one at a time, and again, I just eyeballed it.  I ended up putting about 1/4&#8243;  border around each chore card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_rgkVhl9Jgw/TXmoZbAwN4I/AAAAAAAAO3o/hdxzIaiK4Jo/s1600/on+the+board.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_rgkVhl9Jgw/TXmoZbAwN4I/AAAAAAAAO3o/hdxzIaiK4Jo/s640/on+the+board.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next, I cut three pieces of cording several inches longer than my cardboard, laid out my chore cards.  Then, I ran a piece a cording across the top of each row, and used a disappering fabric marker to mark the spots where I wanted my cording to be attached.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-EaFkcqDvQ1w/TXQN_d6LrfI/AAAAAAAACus/Bc1H5aR5N_k/s1600/IMG_2664.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-EaFkcqDvQ1w/TXQN_d6LrfI/AAAAAAAACus/Bc1H5aR5N_k/s400/IMG_2664.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="300" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Tie a fat knot in the end of each piece of cording&#8230;I swooped the end around three times before pulling it tight.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-t09wqSl0wyo/TXQOB7JMDDI/AAAAAAAACuw/KxPfUQOLt54/s1600/IMG_2667.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-t09wqSl0wyo/TXQOB7JMDDI/AAAAAAAACuw/KxPfUQOLt54/s400/IMG_2667.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="298" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am hoping this will keep the cording from slipping out of the hot glue.  Cut 6 scraps of fabric about 1&#8243; x 1&#8243;.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mCPK4v8jhU4/TXQODvHMzmI/AAAAAAAACu0/h2xydy3j32k/s1600/IMG_2671.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mCPK4v8jhU4/TXQODvHMzmI/AAAAAAAACu0/h2xydy3j32k/s400/IMG_2671.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="301" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Turn your cardboard over and lay the knot down on the back of the cardboard.  Put some hot glue on top of the knot and press a fabric square over it. *I highly recommend using a low temp glue gun*  And obviously be very careful not to burn yourself.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-aIsHS4WeM4o/TXQOLgZLRKI/AAAAAAAACu8/LMGKuhulcw4/s1600/IMG_2674.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-aIsHS4WeM4o/TXQOLgZLRKI/AAAAAAAACu8/LMGKuhulcw4/s640/IMG_2674.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Wrap each piece of cording tightly across the front and tie a knot at the other end, and glue to the back on the opposite side of the cardboard the same way you did on the first side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-HIjg6uTFjZM/TXQOHlAp09I/AAAAAAAACu4/fwdsAE6NoHo/s1600/IMG_2673.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-HIjg6uTFjZM/TXQOHlAp09I/AAAAAAAACu4/fwdsAE6NoHo/s640/IMG_2673.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="462" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here&#8217;s what it should look like and you can just trim the ends once the glue is completely cooled&#8230;I cut the cording really long to make it easier to tie the knot on the other side.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gqAblHCu56g/TXmosq8LcpI/AAAAAAAAO3s/g1jdnsEBwfk/s1600/sami.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gqAblHCu56g/TXmosq8LcpI/AAAAAAAAO3s/g1jdnsEBwfk/s400/sami.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="300" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Pop the cardboard in your frame and clothes pin your chore cards to the cording.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w3s1mF1P_FY/TXmpBo3jn3I/AAAAAAAAO3w/wZUPQko7RxI/s1600/clothespin.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w3s1mF1P_FY/TXmpBo3jn3I/AAAAAAAAO3w/wZUPQko7RxI/s400/clothespin.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="300" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next, I put each child&#8217;s initial on the other clothes pins&#8230;one for each chore card per child, and hang one clothes pin with each child&#8217;s inital next to each chore card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VdJhY2nhyz0/TXmpWD45baI/AAAAAAAAO30/qrMlYvV4vNA/s1600/make+bed.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VdJhY2nhyz0/TXmpWD45baI/AAAAAAAAO30/qrMlYvV4vNA/s400/make+bed.JPG" alt="" width="400" height="300" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><strong>Each day, after completing each chore move their clothepin onto the chore card.</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fVMcrpMyfns/TXmpqXuMseI/AAAAAAAAO34/UPzu_oie5fA/s1600/three+cards.JPG"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fVMcrpMyfns/TXmpqXuMseI/AAAAAAAAO34/UPzu_oie5fA/s640/three+cards.JPG" alt="" width="640" height="480" border="0" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then, at the end of the day if all their chores/responsibilities where completed I put a clothes pin on that day.  My kids get allowance each week&#8230;$1/year old they are, so I just divide that amount by seven and if one of the days doesn&#8217;t have a clothespin on it at the end of the week, I subtract that much from their allowance.  That&#8217;s it!  Hope you liked it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><strong>If you stop by <em><a href="http://wildflowersandwhimsy.blogspot.com/">my blog</a></em>, make sure to let me know so I can check yours out too! </strong></div>
