I don't know about the hot glue, but those rugs don't hold up well in the wash. They fade and fall apart after a couple washes. 🙁 I would just spot clean.

Jen, I was inspired by you and made a runner for my kitchen! I LOVED yours and it matched the color scheme in my kitchen, but I wash my rugs every couple of weeks. Wash and Dry…so I had to alter my version. Thanks for sharing your idea!
