We don’t have a big family, but recently at a bridal shower I gave for my nephew’s fiance, I invited family to our house for Thanksgiving. I already knew my older daughter would be free that day, so that’s why I did it. She works in a teaching hospital as an Occupational Therapist and always works one of the holidays. So when I found out she was available, I “clinched” the date. My SIL had volunteered to cook the turkey, so we’ll get together and prepare the dinner. We have a new kitchen since remodeling our home. Previous to that the family would usually gather at our place because it is the biggest home, but now with a warming draw, convection and steam oven, it will be easier to accomodate all the dishes necessary for a holiday. We also opted for an extra refrigerator in the garage, for extra storage, which will come in handy.
