Honey-Themed Dessert Board

Hi friends! How is your summer so far? One of my favorite things about Summer is gathering out on our patio on summer evenings. I shared our honey-themed dinner party yesterday but I thought it would be fun to share a little tutorial on how I created the honey-themed dessert board and the DIY pretzel bees!

How to Make a Dessert Board

I love creating charcuterie and dessert boards. They are the ultimate party food because they allow guests to graze and chat while eating their favorite savory or sweet items. I’ve made quite a few over the past few year and I will link to those at the bottom of this post. The secret to creating a beautiful dessert board is LAYERING.

What Order to Layer Items on a Dessert Board?

After creating so many dessert and charcuterie boards I have learned the easiest way to layer items for the best effect. Here’s what I’ve found:

• First, put any dishes on the board. I like to gather small items, dips or liquid items in small round bowls.
• If you only have one bowl, I usually will put it in the middle of the board. If you have several bowls, I like to space them around the board.
• Next, layer larger items around the bowls. It looks nice to layer larger items like cookies, or apples around the bowls in a circle, instead of laying everything out in rows.
• Layer any other large items on the board. I do layer some large items in rows to break up the board a little.
• Once the larger layers are on the board, fill in the gaps with small items like berries or candies until the whole board is filled in.
• The last thing I do is add some greenery or edible flowers to the board.

Items to Add to a Sweet Dessert Board

Here are some suggestions of items for a sweet dessert board! Of course, you can pick and choose which items you want for your board. These are just suggestions of items that would be nice for a dessert board.

• Cookies – different shapes, colors and sizes.
• Graham crackers
• Chocolates- different sizes and shapes to fill in the board or to group in small bowls.
• Fruits – small berries like raspberries, strawberries, backberries, peach and apple slices to layer in rows.
• Honey or sweet dips.
• white and/or chocolate pretzes.
• Mint or edible flowers for garnishes.
• Sliced cheeses.
• Pretzel Bees. (tutorial below)

How to make pretzel bees for a summer dessert board or bee-theme party

Ingredients

• 1 package white yogurt pretzels
• 1 cup white dipping chocolate
• 1 cup milk chocolate or dark chocolate dipping chocolate
• 1 package edible googly eyes
• 6 drops yellow food coloring

Instructions

• Melt white dipping chocolate. In microwave melt chocolate at 10 second intervals on medium heat, stirring until chocolate is melted. Add 6 drops of yellow food coloring.
• Lay pretzels on wax paper. Dip pretzels in yellow chocolate and lay them back on the wax paper. Use a small paintbrush to smooth the chocolate. Let cool.
• In small bowl, melt dark chocolate using the same melting directions as above.
• Dip a fork in the dark chocolate. Drizzle chocolate evenly over the pretzels. Let cool.
• Dip each pretzel in the chocolate. Dip the round section of the pretzel and lay back down on wax paper. Add 2 googly eyes to the dark chocolate section of the pretzel.

DIY Terra Cotta Pot Fairy Garden – A Magical Spring Craft. Create a whimsical stacked terra cotta fairy garden with clay doors, moss, and magical miniatures to add charm to your spring porch!

DIY Terra Cotta Pot Fairy Garden

Spring is the perfect time to add some enchantment to your outdoor decor, and this DIY Fairy Garden made from terra cotta pots is the perfect way to do it. This whimsical stacked design is not only eye-catching, but it’s also a fun project to make with your children.

Thanks to Hobby Lobby’s Spring Department, I was able to find everything I needed to create this fairy tale-inspired display—adorable figurines, natural moss, decorative lights, and so much more.

Whether you’re decorating your porch, patio, or backyard, this fairy garden adds a magical touch that will delight kids and adults alike. Let me show you how easy it is to make your own!

Supplies You’ll Need

All of the materials for this project can be found at Hobby Lobby, especially in their Spring Department, which is full of fairy garden elements this season.

• 4 terra cotta pots in varying sizes
• 3 terra cotta pot saucers (bases)
• 1 moss-covered birdhouse (used as the “roof” for the top fairy house)
• Green moss
• Gorilla glue (or a strong, fast-drying adhesive)
• Sculpey clay (or any oven-bake polymer clay)
• Rolling pin and craft knife
• Acrylic paints for doors and windows
• Small ladder, mini birds, faux mushrooms
• Fairy lights and light-up greenery garland
• Decorative tape (optional, for holding pieces while drying)

Step 1: Plan Your Layout

Start by laying out the terra cotta pots in descending size order to create a tower. I used four sizes of pots, each flipped upside down, with three terra cotta saucers between them to give the structure added visual interest. The moss-covered birdhouse serves as the whimsical roof of the fairy tower.

Position your components without gluing at first. This gives you time to adjust spacing, check balance, and visualize where you’ll add doors, windows, and decorative accessories.

Step 2: Assemble and Glue

Once satisfied with the layout, begin adhering the pots and saucers together. I used Gorilla Glue, which sets quickly and provides a strong bond. Apply the glue generously to the contact points between each pot and saucer. Stack each level carefully, pressing down for a secure fit. Let the entire tower dry for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: Sculpt Windows and Doors

While your glue dries, it’s time to create the doors and windows. Roll out your Sculpey clay using a rolling pin to approximately 1/4-inch thickness. Use a sharp knife to cut out whimsical shapes—arched doors, circular windows, even tiny shutters if you like!

Tip: Dip your fingers in water to smooth the clay edges and give your shapes a polished look.

Step 4: Bake the Clay

Place your clay shapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 200°F for 1 hour, or until hardened. Alternatively, let them air-dry overnight. Once set, your pieces will be lightweight, durable, and ready for paint.

Step 5: Paint and Customize

Paint your doors and windows using acrylic paints to match the warm tones of your terra cotta pots. I used a muted brown for doors and an earthy charcoal black to fill in window panes for contrast. Use a small detailing brush to define features like window grids or door handles.

Let the paint dry completely before attaching the clay pieces to your fairy tower.

Step 6: Glue on Windows and Doors

Using Gorilla Glue again, attach each door and window to the corresponding pot level. I used strips of painter’s tape to hold them securely in place as the glue dried. Give it at least 30 minutes before removing the tape.

These hand-sculpted elements are what truly bring the structure to life—giving it a handcrafted charm that kids will love.

Step 7: Add Moss and Detail Work

Now for the fun part—adding character! Use adhesive to glue green moss around the edges of the pot saucers. This softens the transition between levels and gives it an earthy, overgrown feel. You can also glue moss around the birdhouse roof and base for continuity. Use a small paintbrush to paint the insides of the windows black to give them dimension.

Then, begin embellishing with miniatures: perch tiny birds on windowsills, tuck faux mushrooms along the base, and position a ladder climbing up one of the pots. Hobby Lobby’s selection of fairy accessories makes it easy to customize your garden with magical touches.

Step 8: Move to Final Location

Once your fairy tower is fully assembled and dried, carefully move it to its final destination. This piece is ideal for a covered porch, garden entryway, or patio nook—anywhere that could use a little springtime magic.

Step 9: Add Fairy Lights and Finishing Touches

For that final sparkle, wrap a strand of fairy lights or a light-up greenery garland around the base and up the tower. Secure with floral wire or small adhesive clips. As daylight fades, your fairy tower will begin to glow—just like a tiny enchanted village.

Our neighborhood children absolutely adore this project. They’ve already been spotted peeking in the “windows” and dreaming up stories about the fairies who might live inside. This DIY is more than just decor—it’s an invitation to imagination.

How to Make a Simple Garden Planter Box

One of my favorite things is warm weather and being outside planting flowers and working on my garden! Over the years I’ve planted different gardens. Many years ago we planted two huge square foot garden boxes. And a couple years ago I turned a side area into a garden with a vinyl garden box. Now that we are in our forever home, I knew I wanted to make a garden here too!

Why Plant a Planter Box Instead of a In-Ground Garden?

There are a few reasons I love a planter box versus just planting veggies in the ground.

• The first is that creating a raised garden is easier to garden. Having the beds raised makes it easier to get to the plants.
• Line the box with weed barrier so the beds stay cleaner without weeds.
• One more reason I prefer garden boxes is that it’s an easy way to garden in any size yard.

Since our new home is right downtown, our yard is quite small. Even though we have a smaller yard, I knew we could still have a garden. I love the 100+ year old trees in our new home, but it created a tricky situation with deciding where to put our garden. The front yard gets the most light so it made more sense to make a garden in the front yard.

Bartholomew, a retired engineer, devised a raised 4 by 4 feet (1.2 m × 1.2 m) square beds with a grid. The 4 by 4 square beds was then divided into sixteen one-foot squares, the grid.

Planter Boxes Make Growing Plants Vertically Easier

To make the most of your space, build trellis and/or pergolas to go on top of your garden, allowing plants to grow up vertically and maximizing your planter box space.

Decide How Big and How Many Boxes You Want to Create

We decided to start off with one pretty large planter box for our yard. Our box is 4-feet wide by 6-feet long. If we were using the square foot method, that would mean that we have 24 boxes to plant in.

Don’t Make the Width of Your Planter Box Too Wide

I recommend 4 feet as the longest width you would want to create. The reason is that you need to be able to reach in and tend to the plants. A box that is too wide you won’t be able to reach your plants. You don’t want to have to climb on top of the planter box. Make a No-Maintenance Vinyl Garden Box.

Create Any Length of Planter Box

Make your planter box(es) as long as makes sense for your yard. I love the idea of running some long planter boxes against your fence.

What Materials Do I Use to Make Planter Boxes?

There are several different materials that work best to created raised planter boxes.

• Treated Lumber
• Redwood Lumber
• Vinyl

The Hardware Store Will Cut Your Wood

If you choose redwood to create the outside of your planter box, your lumber store will cut the wood to the lengths you need. That’s what we did. Take note that if you go with vinyl or pre-treated lumber you will have to cut those yourself.

Materials Needed to Create a Raised Garden Planter Box

• Lumber (or vinyl) 8 boards (4 for length, 4 for height)
• Wood Screws
• Weed barrier (estimate the square feet of your box, we tripled our fabric)
• Square stakes
• Dirt (we mixed half garden soil and half garden prep mixture)
• Any materials for trellis or pergola

Steps to Make a Raised Planter Box

• Cut boards to size
• Screw wood screws in sides of boards, connecting sides. Make the lower box first.
• Lay the box on the ground and measure out the weed barrier.
• Lay the first box on top of the weed barrier.
• Add Stakes on four corners. Put a hole in the weed barrier where the stakes were going so that they could go directly into the ground.
• Build second box by screwing wood screws into four boards as you did with the first box.
• Lay the second box on top of the first.
• Screw wood screws through the stakes into the outside of the second box to secure the first and second boxes together.
• Fill the box with dirt, estimate the square footage of dirt you need.
• Plant your garden!

Supplies

• Paper towel roll
• Twine
• Starfish

1. Measure and Cut: Begin by determining the desired width of your napkin rings. I opted for a width of 2 inches for mine. Measure and mark the paper towel roll accordingly, then cut it into individual rings.
2. Secure the Twine: Apply a small dab of hot glue to the bottom of one ring and attach one end of the twine. Hold it in place until secure. Proceed to wrap the twine around the ring, applying hot glue along the edge as you go.
3. Wrap and Secure: Continue wrapping the twine around the ring until it’s completely covered. Once you reach the end, cut the twine and tuck the loose end under to secure it. For a polished finish, add an extra row of twine to cover the cardboard edges, ensuring all ends are neatly tucked away.
4. Attach the Starfish: Flip the ring over to the front and apply a dab of hot glue at the center. Place the starfish on top of the glue and hold it in place until it sets. Voila! Your charming nautical napkin rings are ready to adorn your table.

Creating a charming summer strawberry-themed wreath is a delightful way to decorate your front door and set the tone for a vibrant, inviting porch. This tutorial will guide you through the process of making a beautiful strawberry wreath using faux strawberries, lush greenery, small white flowers, and a striking red bow. Additionally, we’ll explore how to extend this theme to create a complete strawberry-themed summer porch.

DIY Flower Craft Tutorials

Before we get into the tutorial, I have five friends who are sharing their amazing summer flower crafts, and I am sharing them at the bottom of this post—be sure to scroll down and check out these beautiful floral DIY ideas!

Materials Needed

• Greenery wreath base with small white flowers
• White Faux Snowball Hydrangea Flowers
• Faux strawberry bunches
• Red and white gingham ribbon with wire
• Red grosgrain ribbon
• Scissors
• Floral wire
• Hot glue gun (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare Your Greenery Wreath

Start with a greenery wreath base that includes small white flowers. This will serve as the foundation for your strawberry wreath.

1. Fluff the Wreath: Gently fluff the greenery and flowers to give the wreath a full, lush appearance. Make sure all the elements are evenly distributed.

2. Add Faux Strawberry Bunches

Adding faux strawberry bunches is the next step to bringing the strawberry theme to life.

1. Prepare the Strawberries: Separate the faux strawberry bunches, if necessary, so they are ready to be placed on the wreath.
2. Position the Strawberries: Arrange the strawberries around the wreath, spacing them evenly. Fluff them out to ensure they look natural and voluminous.
3. Attach the Strawberries: Use floral wire to secure the strawberry bunches to the wreath. Wrap the wire around the stems of the strawberries and the wreath base, twisting tightly to hold them in place. You can also use a hot glue gun for additional security.

3. Create the Double Bow

The double bow is a key decorative element that adds a charming touch to the wreath. Follow these steps to make a perfect double bow.

Larger Bow (Gingham Ribbon)

1. Cut the Ribbon: Cut a length of the red and white gingham ribbon to 36 inches. This will be for the three loops on each side of the bow.
2. Form the Loops: Fold the ribbon to create three loops on each side, each loop being 6 inches in width.
3. Cut the Tails: Cut two tails, each 12 inches long.
4. Assemble the Bow: Use floral wire to tie the center of the loops, securing the shape of the bow. Attach the tails to the back of the bow using the same wire.

Smaller Bow (Red Grosgrain Ribbon)

1. Cut the Ribbon: Cut a length of the red grosgrain ribbon to 24 inches for the loops.
2. Form the Loops: Create two loops on each side, each loop being 4 inches in width.
3. Cut the Tails: Cut two tails, each 8 inches long.
4. Assemble the Bow: Use floral wire to tie the center of the loops, securing the shape of the bow. Attach the tails to the back of the bow using the same wire.

Combine the Bows

1. Layer the Bows: Place the smaller red grosgrain bow on top of the larger gingham bow.
2. Secure the Bows Together: Cut a 12-inch length of ribbon and tie it around the center of both bows to cover the floral wire and secure them together. Tie it tightly in the back and trim any excess ribbon.

4. Attach the Bow to the Wreath

1. Position the Bow: Decide where you want to place the bow on the wreath. The top or bottom center is typically a good spot.
2. Secure the Bow: Use the leftover wire from the bow to tie it onto the wreath securely.

5. Final Touches

1. Adjust the Elements: Make any final adjustments to the strawberries, flowers, and bow to ensure everything looks balanced and visually appealing.
2. Secure Loose Elements: Use additional floral wire or hot glue to secure any loose elements.

Creating a Strawberry-Themed Summer Porch

Now that you have your beautiful strawberry wreath, it’s time to extend the theme to your entire porch.

1. Strawberry Wreath

Your handmade strawberry wreath will be the centerpiece of your porch decor.

2. Small Sign

Hang a small sign to the side of your door to complement the wreath. You can find charming strawberry-themed signs online or make one yourself.

3. Flower Market Crates

Add flower market crates on both sides of your door to enhance the farmhouse feel. Use wood crates and stencil or draw flower market signs on the crates.

1. Stack the Crates: Stack two crates on one side of the door and one crate on the other side.

Strawberry Shortcake Sliders

There really is only a few other desserts that are the quintessential summertime treat…fresh strawberries are very high on that list. I thought it would be fun to create a very simple strawberry shortcake dessert that was literally one bite. These little strawberry shortcake sliders would be a great thing to serve up at your next baby shower or summer picnic party.

Save Time By Making Strawberry Shortcake Ingredients In Advance

You can cut everything up and make the homemade whipped topping in advance. When you are getting ready to serve just put them together and place on a tray. They keep in the refrigerator for about an hour or so but not much longer than that or they will kind of get soggy. My daughter and I put these together in about 10 minutes… so they don’t take a lot of time. I would caution you to make a lot because they are so easy to eat!

Ingredients to Make Strawberry Shortcake Sliders

All you will need is a store bought vanilla pound cake sliced, fresh strawberries sliced, toothpicks, and some homemade whipping cream. I use this Homemade whipping cream on several kinds of desserts that call for a store bought whipped topping. I love this recipe because it its just 3 very simple ingredients and you can make as much as you need.

Strawberry Shortcake Slider Ingredient list:

store bought pound cake

strawberries

toothpicks

1 C heavy whipping cream

1 T powdered sugar

dash of vanilla extract

Whipping Cream Tips

The key to this homemade whipping cream is to get the mixing bowl as cold as you can. Placing in the freezer for about 10 minutes usually does it. I also put my Kitchenaid whisk in the freezer also…. and make sure your whipping cream is super cold. If you don’t have a stand mixer you can do it by hand but it will take some girth;) When you are ready to assemble just cut the cake into bite sized forms.

Use a Star-Shaped Cookie Cutter

We used a small star cookie cutter if you don’t have that you can just cut into little squares. Top with a strawberry slice and a dollop of your fresh whipping cream. That’s it! It is summer on a platter!

Kids Craft: DIY Tassel Bookmarks

Teaching my kids the love of reading was something that was very important to me as a mom. When my kids we re younger I created a reading tent (I’ll add the link at the bottom of the post). I gave them a certain number of minutes per day that they had to read in order to earn screen time. It became one of our FAVORITE summer traditions! And I am so happy to say that all of my kids are huge readers now! These DIY Tassel Bookmarks are not only adorable but also customizable, allowing kids to infuse their personality into their reading accessories. Let’s dive into the step-by-step process of creating these charming bookmarks.

Supplies Needed:

• Jen Hadfield Groovy Darlin’ paper and embellishments
• Paper trimmer
• Hole punch
• Mod Podge
• Yarn
• Tassel loom tool

Directions:

Making the Tassels

The W R Memory Makers Tassel Loom makes creating tassels so easy! You can make THREE different sizes of tassels for all kinds of projects! Here’s how to make the tassels:

• Prepare the Tassel Loom: Begin by setting up your tassel loom. It’s an easy-to-use tool for making tassels of various sizes.

• Wrap the Yarn: Place the end of the yarn in the left notch of the tassel loom. Wrap the yarn around the loom several times, depending on the desired thickness of your tassel. Approximately 20 loops should suffice.

• Secure and Trim: Once you’ve wrapped the yarn, insert the other end through the right notch of the loom. Trim any excess yarn.

• Tie the Center: Take a 6-inch piece of string and wrap it around the center of the looped yarn, securing it with a knot. Fold the ends of the tassel loom in half.

• Trim the Tassel: Use scissors to cut along the indentation at the bottom of the loom, shaping the tassel.
• Attach the Head: Take a 12-inch piece of yarn and wrap it around the head of the tassel. Tie it securely with a knot, leaving two longer strands from the knot for attaching the tassel to the bookmark. Trim any excess yarn.

Making the Bookmarks:

1. Cut the Paper: Trim your chosen paper to a size of 6 inches in length and 2 inches in width. This will be the base of your bookmark.

1. Apply Mod Podge: Apply a layer of Mod Podge to both the front and back of the bookmark. This will help seal the paper and give it a nice finish.

1. Add Ephemera: Get creative with embellishments! Decorate your bookmark with ephemera, using Mod Podge to adhere them securely to the paper. Apply another layer of Mod Podge over the top to seal everything in place.

1. Personalize with Stickers: Let your imagination run wild by adding stickers to your bookmark. Choose stickers that reflect your interests and personality.

1. Attach the Tassel: Using the longer strands of yarn from the tassel knot, tie the tassel to the top of the bookmark. Ensure it’s securely fastened.

1. Final Touches: Trim any excess yarn from the tassel, and voila! Your adorable DIY Tassel Bookmark is ready to mark your place in your favorite book.

Dollar Spot Coasters

So when I spotted some concrete coasters at Target’s Dollar Spot, I knew they were perfect to personalize for our space. I love shopping in the Dollar Spot because there are always so many on-trend items at such affordable prices. These coasters come in three different shapes — hex, round and square!

10-Minute DIY Concrete Coasters

This is such an easy DIY! And your kids will love making them too! All you need are coasters, scrapbook paper and mod podge!

New Peaceful Hearts Paper Collection!

My new Peaceful Heart collection comes out tomorrow (June 16th) and I am so thrilled!! Peaceful Heart is full of warm and cozy colors plus beautiful embellishments, stickers, gorgeous washi paper and the most adorable tassel embellishments!

It really has a boho feel which I love so much, especially for summer! I used three of the papers for the coasters in this DIY. And I will be sharing the whole collection in a blog post tomorrow, but in the meantime here is a little glimpse inside my NEW collection, Peaceful Heart!!

How to Make Decoupage Coasters

Supplies:

• Concrete or Stone Coasters. I found mine at the dollar spot. .
• Scrapbook paper
• Mod Podge – I used matte indoor/outdoor mod podge.
• Glossy Accents – You can add this as a top coat to make the coasters water-resistant and help protect them from heat from hot drinks.

Trace Coasters

Use a pencil and trace around the shape of the coasters. I wanted a small amount of the coaster to show around the scrapbook paper so I traced the coaster and then cut a little smaller with the scissors than the pencil line so a little edge of the coaster would show around the paper.

Mod Podge the Coaster

Use a paint brush and brush on a thick, even coat of mod podge on the surface of the coaster. Be sure to get enough around the edges where the paper ends.

Place Paper Over Coaster

Now take the paper you just cut out and place it on top of the mod podge. Smooth the paper out with your hands, pressing any air bubbles out. Make sure to press the edges of the paper smooth against the coaster.

Add a Layer of Mod Podge on Top of Paper

Once the mod podge has tried under the paper, use a paint brush and paint a thin coat of mod podge evenly over the paper.

Add Another Layer of Mod Podge

Once the first layer of mod podge has dried. Coat the coaster with a second thin coat of mod podge and let it dry.

Enjoy Your New Colorful Coasters!

Let the coasters cure overnight. Then use them all summer. I plan on keeping mine out all year long! It’s an easy project ad one that will protect your furniture, both inside and outside!

Paper Butterfly Wreath and Free Butterfly Template. Create a vibrant summer wreath adorned with paper butterflies, adding a touch of whimsy and handmade charm to your home decor.

Paper Butterfly Wreath and Free Butterfly Template

I love paper crafting! One of my favorite things about Summer are the beautiful butterflies. So I thought it would be fun to make some paper butterflies for a wreath. I am using my Jen Hadfield Flower Child line of papers, available at various craft stores including scrapbook.com and JoAnn Stores. We’ll be using these whimsical papers to create a stunning Paper Butterfly Summer Wreath that will add a touch of whimsy to any space.

Paper Butterfly Wreath Supplies:

1. Faux boxwood wreath
2. Ribbon (opt for a wider pink ribbon and a thinner yellow plaid ribbon for a playful contrast)
3. Paper (select six different designs from the Flower Child Collection for variety)
4. Gold wire
5. Hot glue gun

How to Make Paper Butterflies:

1. Print the Template: Begin by printing off the butterfly wings template from the provided resource. This template offers two sizes of butterfly wings, allowing for versatility in your wreath design.
2. Cut Out Butterfly Wings: Using the template, carefully cut out the butterfly wings from your chosen Flower Child papers. Remember, you’ll need both sizes of wings for each butterfly. Note that the bottom of the butterfly is narrower than the top.
3. Prepare Gold Wire: Cut a 12-inch piece of gold wire for each butterfly.
4. Fold Butterfly Wings: Gently fold the wings along the indicated lines for both the larger and smaller sets.
5. Assemble Butterflies: Loosely fold the gold wire in half and slip the butterfly wings inside the loop, ensuring that the wider, thinner wings are positioned on top and the thicker, less-wide wings are at the bottom. Pinch the wings together with your fingers and wrap the gold wire around them, securing them in place. Twist the ends of the wire to create antennae, then fashion them into spirals for a whimsical touch. Trim any excess wire using heavy-duty scissors or wire cutters.
6. Once the butterfly is done, lay it flat and use your fingers to push the folds so that the wings open up and pull the top wings to the top and the bottom wings to the bottom to separate the top from the bottom.
7. Create Multiple Butterflies: Repeat the process with all six different paper prints to create six large butterflies. Additionally, use the smaller set of wings to craft three smaller butterflies. Feel free to adjust the number and sizes of butterflies based on your preference.
8. Attach Butterflies to Wreath: Once all your butterflies are assembled, arrange them on your faux boxwood wreath in a pleasing configuration. Once satisfied with the placement, use a hot glue gun to firmly attach them to the wreath.
9. Add Ribbon Bow: Cut two pieces of ribbon, approximately 30 inches in length each. Tie them into a bow and secure the bow to the top of the wreath using hot glue.
10. Admire Your Creation: Step back and admire your Paper Butterfly Summer Wreath, showcasing the beauty of Jen Hadfield’s Flower Child papers. Hang it on your front door, above a mantel, or anywhere that needs a touch of summer cheer.

Other Ways to Use Paper Butterflies

I added these delightful butterflies to my wreath, but there are other ways you can use these paper butterflies!

• Add a small dowel to the butterflies and put them in a vase with flowers
• Punch holes at the top of the butterfly wings on both sides and tie the butterflies together to make a whimsical summer butterfly garland.
• Use small pins and pin the butterflies to a wall or over a fireplace to make the butterflies look like they are flying!

How to Print off the Butterfly Templates

It’s super easy to print off the template. Simply right-click on the butterfly template link. Then open it in a new tab. Right-click on the image again and select “print”.

Use Excess Paper to Create Paper Vases

I used the left-over paper to wrap around tin cans and create paper vases that match the wreath. So easy. Just measure the height of each can, then trim paper to fit and wrap it around the can, securing it at the back with either hot glue or tape. So easy!!
