I love an inexpensive and easy centerpiece. Today I am sharing how to create this sweet tissue paper valentine tree centerpiece. All it takes is a few supplies and minutes to create!

How to Make a Tissue Paper Heart Tree Centerpiece

Here’s how to make this easy centerpiece idea!

Use Branches

To create the tree, use real or faux branches. I had a olive leaf garland that I found on sale, so I just cut that apart to make branches. You can cut some branches from a tree in your yard or use faux branches. Find a container to use. I used a simple white vase. Then put your branches in your vase.

Cut Tissue Paper Hearts

I used two different colors of PINK hearts for my tree. I used about 8 layers of tissue paper and cut out three different sizes of hearts out of both colors of the pink tissue paper. But you can use ANY color or multiple tissue paper colors for your project. White would also be beautiful!

Attach the Hearts to Your Branches

Once I had the hearts cut out, I used hot glue to attach the hearts to the branches. If you don’t want to use hot glue you can use glue dots or even a dot of regular white glue.

Distribute the Different Sized Hearts on the Tree

I used the largest size of hearts first. Once I had those attached, I worked my way through the hearts by ize, ending with the smallest size hearts. I love using tissue paper for this project because the tissue paper is so thin and the light comes through the tissue paper hearts which I think is so pretty!

Display Your Tissue Paper Heart Valentine Tree

This valentine tree is so fun as a centerpiece for a coffee table or dining room table, but it would also be so pretty on a kitchen counter or island or even on a entryway console or bedroom dresser. The possibilities are endless!

I love this time of year. The weather is beginning to cool down and fall is just around the corner. One easy way to bring fall into your home is by creating some pretty pumpkins! Here are a few of my favorite pumpkin tutorials I’ve shared!

Yarn Pumpkin Garland

I shared our fall mantel last week and I love the way it looks! The DIY Yarn Pumpkin Garland was so easy and fun to make! You can use it in so many ways for early fall — on a mantel like I did, on a shelf, over a doorway, etc!

Colorful Pumpkin DIY Ideas

When we lived at daybreak I created a colorful pumpkin porch and it’s still my favorite! I spray painted pumpkins, created a DIY pumpkin garland for over the door and a DIY ombre pumpkin rainbow wreath. I have the details on those pumpkin projects on the post that is linked above!

DIY houndstooth pumpkin wreath

Take houndstooth material and create little houndstooth pumpkins! You can make them in any size you want. I made some small ones and created a warm and cozy pumpkin wreath!

DIY gold geometric pumpkins

Turn carvable pumpkins into gold geometric pumpkins. They look so pretty at night!

Embroidery Hoop and Paper Pumpkins

Turn embroidery hoops and pretty paper into the most adorable pumpkins. I used paper from my American Crafts line and I love the little house paper in that line!

Gilded Leaf Pumpkins

Gild fall leaves and decoupage them onto pumpkins for a fresh and beautiful take on fall!

3-D Pumpkin Art Wall

For this easy craft, I used dollar store frames which I spray painted, then cut foam pumpkins in half and mounted them inside the frames on scrapbook paper. I used command hooks so I didn’t have to put any nails in my wall!

Stacked Pumpkin Topiary

This is one of my favorite pumpkin tutorials. I painted pumpkins white and black, then stacked them to create this fun topiary!

Polka Dot Pumpkin Tutorial

Turn plush minky material into the softest pumpkins with this tutorial. I even made a giant one to use as a pumpkin pillow!

Gold Glitter and Grout Pumpkins

I covered foam pumpkins with a layer of plaster and then added gold glitter to create a concrete-looking pumpkin. I loved the contrast between the matte plaster an the sparkle!

Plaid Pumpkin and Ruffle Wreath

One of my favorite wreaths I’ve ever made! I used raw silk material to make the ruffles, then cut a foam pumpkin in half and decoupaged grey and white gingham fabric on top and ended with a silk bow! I might have to make a new one this year!

Ruffled Pumpkins

You don’t have to use traditional halloween colors when you are creating pumpkins! I used some of my favorite bright material to create these ruffled pumpkins and I love how bright and happy they all look together!

Dollar Store Crackled Pumpkins

This is an oldie but a goodie. Turn dollar store pumpkins into crackled pumpkins. You can paint the pumpkins white and put a color over the top so that the white comes through.

Fresh Sweater Pumpkins

Use inexpensive dollar store pumpkins and transform them into beautiful decor with thrifted sweaters! I need to make some PINK ones this year!

Painted Autumn Pumpkin Mantel

Another favorite! I took craft pumpkins, spray painted them white and painted wood letters that spell AUTUMN. I loved how simple it was on our fall mantel.

DIY Daisy Paper Chain Banner

There’s just something about daisies that makes everything feel a little brighter, don’t you think? These cheerful blooms are popping up in fashion, accessories, and now—your home decor! Whether you’re throwing a daisy-themed party, decorating for spring, or just want to bring some floral happiness indoors, this DIY daisy paper chain is the perfect project. Bonus points? I used paper from my brand new American Crafts paper collection, and I can’t wait for you to see how it turned out!

Five DIY Paper Crafts to Try This Spring

Today I’m joining four of my super creative friends who are also sharing DIY paper crafts—there’s something for everyone! From flowers to fun home accents, you’ll find tons of ideas to brighten up your space.
Be sure to scroll all the way down and HOP over to their tutorials for even more papery fun. You’re going to want to try them all, promise.

Supplies for Your DIY Daisy Paper Chain Garland

Here’s everything you need to create your easy daisy paper garland at home:

• White 12×12 cardstock (for the daisy petals)
• Yellow patterned paper from my American Crafts paper pad (for the flower centers)
• Matching yellow paint
• Empty egg carton (optional but fun!)
• Pink 12×12 paper (for the paper chain links)
• Hot glue gun
• Stapler
• Scissors or paper trimmer

How to Make the Petals for Your DIY Paper Daisy Flowers

Start by making the petals for your paper daisy flowers. Use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut the white 12×12 cardstock into 2-inch strips.

• Fold each strip in half.

• Trim the folded end with scissors so it’s slightly narrower—this gives your daisy petals a natural shape.

• Take six petals and overlap them into a circle.

• Use a stapler to attach them together at the narrow ends.

Each flower uses six petals, and don’t worry about that staple showing—now you’re going to cut out a white circle to cover up the staples.

Add the Yellow Flower Centers to Your Paper Daisy Chain

Now take the paper egg carton and cut out three of the egg holders. Then trim it to look circular.

Now use scissors to make cuts around the edges of the egg container. Paint the egg cartons the same color yellow as the paper.

• Make 1.5 inch paper strips with the yellow paper. Then make small cuts halfway through the paper all the way down the strips.

• Fold the paper in half.

• and then roll it up and secure the edges with hot glue.

Boom—your DIY paper daisies are blooming beautifully.

Create the Pink Paper Chain to Attach the Daisy Flowers

Now it’s time to create the paper chain garland that holds it all together!

• Cut your pink 12×12 paper into twelve 1-inch strips.
• Take the first strip and glue the ends together to make a loop.
• Loop the second strip through the first, then glue its ends.
• Continue this until you have three loops.

For the third strip, loop it through the previous chain and one of your daisy petals. Hot glue it in place to connect the flower to the chain.

Repeat this on the other side of the flower with three more loops and the next daisy.

Assembling the DIY Daisy Paper Chain Banner

To build your DIY daisy banner, follow this pattern:

1. Add three paper chain loops
2. Attach a daisy flower
3. Add three more loops
4. Repeat until all your flowers are attached

You can make your daisy garland as long or short as you like—just adjust the number of flowers and paper chain links.

Want smaller flowers? Just halve the size of everything (1-inch strips instead of 2-inch, smaller circles, etc.) for a mini version.

Ways to Use Your DIY Daisy Paper Garland for Spring Decor

Your cheerful DIY daisy paper chain garland is now ready to decorate your space! Here are some fun ways to use it:

• Hang it over a doorway to welcome guests
• Drape it across your mantel for instant spring style

Hi friends! Can you believe it’s March?? Spring is right around the corner, and today I am so excited to share a super simple gift bag idea that you can make for your spring parties or to package Easter gifts!

Turn Grocery Store Paper Bags into Adorable Gift Bags

One of the things I love about this idea is how inexpensive it is to create these bunny gift bags! All you need are ordinary lunch bags that you can buy at the grocery store and yarn. I used some yarn that I already had on hand, but you can find yarn at any hobby store. Here is a link to similar yarn that I used — Fuzzy Cream Yarn. I love the fuzziness of the yarn, it’s so soft and the texture is really pretty.

Make Easter Bunny Treat Bags with Your Kids

This is a really fun craft to make with your kids and even teens love it. It’s really fast to make and your kids will love making the pom poms!

Here’s How to Make Easter Bunny Treat Bags

Only a few steps are needed to make these adorable treat bags.

Step 1: Lay Your Paper Bag Out on Your Work Surface

Step 2: Fold The Paper Bag in Half

Step 3: Make a Cut at the Fold

Make a cute about 1/3 of the way down the bag at the fold. The cut should be about 2 inches long.

Step 4: Make the Ears

Start at the end of the cut and cut straight up the bag. When you get about 3 inches from the top, start curving the cut so that it looks like a half circle. This is the top of the bunny’s ear.

Step 5: Unfold the Bag and Lay it Flat

Step 6: Make the Bunny Tail.

• To make the tail, find something that is about 5 inches long. You can use a small book, your phone, or even a piece of cardboard that is cut to that length.
• Wrap the yarn around the object 75 times.
• Slide the yarn off the object and cut the yarn at the top and bottom, so you have two sections of yarn that are the same size.
• Lay the yarn in a pile.
• Take the uncut yarn and cut a 6 inch length.
• Lay that 6-inch length of yarn on your work surface.
• Lay the pile of yarn on top and tie it in the middle. Tie it tightly with a knot.
• Use your scissors and shape the yarn into a ball shape.

Step 7: Fill the Bag with the Treats/Gift

Step 8: Use ribbon to tie the bag right under the ears.

I used a book to hold the ears in place so that I could tie it in the middle of the ears. Make a bow.

Step 9: Hot Glue the Tail

Hot glue the tail in the middle of the paper bag, under the bow , leaving 2-3 inches of lunch bag showing under the tail.

What is a Bullet Journal?

A bullet journal is a customizable organization system that combines elements of a planner, diary, and scrapbook. It’s designed to help you track your life, set goals, and reflect on your experiences—all in a creative, personalized format. Unlike traditional planners, bullet journals are blank canvases, allowing you to design layouts, decorate pages, and tailor the journal to your specific needs and interests. Whether you’re looking to stay organized, practice mindfulness, or document memories, a bullet journal is the perfect way to document your memories.

Supplies You’ll Need for Journaling

Creating a beautiful bullet journal starts with the right supplies. Here are some essentials to gather before you begin:

• Journal: Choose a notebook with thick, high-quality paper that can handle drawing, painting, and other creative touches. This will prevent ink or paint from bleeding through the pages.
• Pens and Markers: Use fine-tip pens for writing and markers for decorative accents.
• Watercolor Paints: I found the most stunning metallic watercolor paints at Hobby Lobby—they add such a magical touch to every page.
• Stickers and Washi Tape: These are great for adding pops of color and flair.
• Tabs and Rulers: Tabs help you navigate your journal, and a ruler ensures your lines and boxes are neat.
• Photos and Memorabilia: Personalize your journal with photos, tickets, and mementos from the past year.

How to Create a Bullet Journal

Cover Page

Start with a beautiful cover page to set the tone for your journal. I drew the year “2025” in bold numbers and added a delicate bow for a whimsical touch. Feel free to let your creativity shine by using metallic watercolors or adding stickers and embellishments. This design was inspired by Brigid Carey Creates.

First Page: Introduction

On the first page, include a photo of yourself taken on January 1st with your journal. This is a special way to mark the beginning of your 2025 journey.

Recap of 2024

Dedicate a page to reflecting on the past year. I created a spread to list my all-time favorite things, including songs, colors, activities, and food. On the next page, I highlighted my favorite things from 2024, such as TV shows, products (like my beloved Buxom lip gloss), and favorite places to shop. ATF page inspired by Bling Bling on Pinterest.

Goals for 2025

The next two pages are for setting goals. I added a big bow at the top and watercolored it for an extra splash of color. Write down your aspirations and dreams for the new year to keep yourself motivated.

Memories from 2024

Reflect on your achievements and growth from the past year. I included prompts like “What did I achieve?” and “How did I change from 2024 to 2025?” Decorate this spread with drawings or watercolors to make it visually appealing.

Books to Read

Create a page dedicated to your 2025 reading list. I painted books and listed titles I want to read throughout the year. This is a fun way to stay on top of your reading goals.

January Inspiration

For January, I painted cozy illustrations like a fireplace, tea, and blankets. This page captures the essence of my intentions for the month: relaxation, self-care, and productivity.

Intentions for 2025

On the next two pages, write down your intentions for the year. I added boxes beneath each intention to expand on specific goals and plans.

Monthly Introduction

Start each month with a decorative page. For January, I used a fireworks theme to celebrate the new year. Add tabs to the edges of the pages for easy navigation between months. The January layout was inspired by @bulletwithe.

Daily Boxes

Design a spread for daily entries. I drew boxes for each day of January and decorated the first two pages with a disco ball, the next two with trees, and the last two with a forest theme. The disco ball image was inspired by @erikabeeswax.

These daily boxes are perfect for jotting down quick notes or highlights from each day.

Monthly Wrap-Up

End each month with a summary page. For January, I included sections for books I read, home projects, favorite movies, songs, and TV shows. This is a fun way to reflect on your month and document your favorite moments.

Year-End Reflection

Reserve the back of your journal for a 2025 wrap-up. This space is perfect for reflecting on your growth and accomplishments, adding memorabilia, and celebrating the year’s highlights.

Why I Love Bullet Journals

One of my favorite things about bullet journals is how they double as a scrapbook. Even if you don’t have time to write lengthy journal entries throughout the year, you can still document your life by adding receipts, photos, and other keepsakes. This transforms your journal into a beautiful, tangible memory book.

DIY Tissue Paper Holiday Trees

I love a creating a colorful mantel for the holidays! I’ve been obsessed with Hobby Lobby’s colorful trees for a few years. I decided to make some coordinating colorful tissue paper trees for our mantel.

Hobby Lobby Christmas Shop

I love seeing all of the Christmas and Holiday items at Hobby Lobby! This year there are so many beautiful items! There are gorgeous serving pieces, dishes, trees, ornaments, signs and anything you need to create a memorable holiday home! And everything is on sale too! I fell in love with this Christmas Tree sign. It’s the centerpiece of our holiday mantel and it looks so happy surrounded by the colorful bottle brush trees and my new tissue paper trees! I painted the trees colors that match the tissue papers I used.

How to make Tissue Paper Holiday Trees

These trees are so easy to make! You only need a few supplies and you can find them all at Hobby Lobby!

DIY tissue Paper Holiday Trees Supplies

• Holiday Tree Sign
• Tissue Paper (you can use any color you want! Hobby Lobby has a wonderful assortment of colors).
• Wood Dowels (these came in a package of 20)
• Wood Shapes (these shapes are in the same section as the dowels).
• Hot Glue Gun
• Glue Dots (optional)
• Stapler
• Templates (I created two sizes you can download for FREE).

DIY Tissue Paper Holiday Tree Directions

Lay the template on top of the tissue paper with the straight edge at the fold!

Trace the template with a pencil

Cut out the traced design

Do this 2 or 4 times, depending on how fluffy you want your trees to be!

Divide the trees in half. Open up the trees you just cut out and staple the center of the trees so you have two sections of trees.

Lay the first section of trees on your work surface, with the fold facing up. Hot glue a line of glue from the center of the trees down to the tree trunk.

Lay the wood dowel on top of the glue.

Hot glue a line of glue starting at the top of the tree, over the dowel to the bottom of the tree. Lay the second set of trees on top of the first section with the fold facing inwards. You want the folds next to the dowel so that the trees flare outward.

Hot glue the dowel with the tree on it onto the circle or square piece. I used a drill to make an indentation to hold the glue. You can do this or just use glue and hold it as it cools and it will stand up.

I used glue dots to close the gaps between the first set of trees and the second set. You can also use hot glue to do this. You might also need to glue the tops of the trees so they don’t gap.

How to Make Different Heights of Trees

I cut the dowels in half and used the smaller template to make smaller trees. But you can cut the dowels at different heights if you want all of the trees to be different heights

Fall Centerpiece with Decoupage Pumpkins

I’m so excited to share a fun new project featuring my American Crafts Groovy Darlin’ paper, which is now shipping and available at JoAnn Stores! If you love creating with paper like I do, this is the perfect project for you. I’ve been obsessed with these chipboard pumpkins I found at Hobby Lobby, and as soon as I saw them, I knew they’d be adorable covered in paper. These pumpkins make a great addition to any fall centerpiece, and they are also perfect for Thanksgiving decor. I can’t wait to show you how to decoupage them to create something special for your home!

What is Decoupage?

Before diving into the project, let’s talk about decoupage, a technique I use all the time. Decoupage is simply the art of decorating an object by gluing paper cutouts onto it. The glue or sealer used in decoupage is called Mod Podge. It’s a multi-purpose adhesive that dries clear, giving your project a smooth, professional-looking finish. There are different types of Mod Podge, including Matte, Gloss, and Satin finishes, depending on the look you want. Matte gives you a soft, flat finish, while Gloss adds a shiny coating. You can even find Outdoor or Dishwasher-Safe Mod Podge for projects that need to be durable. For this centerpiece project, I recommend using the Matte Mod Podge for a clean, smooth look that will highlight the beauty of the patterned paper without too much shine.

What is a Paper Pad?

A paper pad is a must-have for crafting, offering a collection of coordinated patterned papers bound together in one convenient place. I love using paper pads because they include everything you need to create cohesive projects, whether you’re at home or on the go. They’re also perfect for people who aren’t big crafters or are just getting started. Paper pads are an economical way to craft without having to buy a ton of supplies—each pad typically comes with 24 sheets of coordinating papers, including plain papers, stickers, and cardstock, all designed to work beautifully together. This makes it easy to create polished, professional-looking projects without the hassle of hunting for matching materials.

Where to Find the Pumpkin Kits

The chipboard pumpkins I used come in kits, which include two pumpkins—one small and one large. Each pumpkin is made up of two pieces that fit together, so they will stand up on their own, creating a 3D look. I found mine at Hobby Lobby, and they are such a fun and affordable base for any fall project. If you don’t have a Hobby Lobby near you, no worries! I’ve also linked similar kits that you can order online, so everyone can join in on the crafting fun. The beauty of these kits is that they are a blank canvas for creativity—you can decoupage them, paint them, or even leave them natural for a rustic vibe.

Supplies You Will Need to Make Fall Centerpiece with Decoupage Pumpkins

Here’s what you’ll need to get started with your own decoupage pumpkin centerpiece:

• Pumpkin kits (each kit comes with two pumpkins) Hobby Lobby
• American Crafts Groovy Darlin’ paper (available at JoAnn Stores or your local craft store)
• Mod Podge (Matte is recommended)
• Foam brush or regular paintbrush for applying Mod Podge
• Scissors
• Pencil for tracing
• Mallet or hammer (optional but helpful)
• Soft cloth or towel (to avoid damaging the pumpkin when assembling)

Fall Centerpiece Instructions

Now, let’s get to the fun part—decorating the pumpkins! Follow these simple steps:

Pick out the papers you want to use for your pumpkins

I like to use two coordinating papers for each pumpkin to create a layered and textured look. Each pumpkin has two pieces that fit together, and each piece has two sides, so you’ll need to cut two pieces of the same size for each side of the pumpkin.

Trace and cut your paper

Start by taking your paper and folding it in half. This way, when you trace the pumpkin shape onto the paper, you can cut out two pieces at once. Use a pencil to lightly trace the pumpkin shape onto the paper, then cut it out. Repeat this step with your coordinating paper for the other side of the pumpkin.

Apply Mod Podge

Use your foam brush or paintbrush to apply a thin, even coat of Mod Podge directly onto the pumpkin. Then, carefully place your paper over the top and smooth it down, lining up the edges. Use your fingers or a brayer to smooth out any air bubbles that might form. Repeat on the other side of the pumpkin piece, and then do the same with the second pumpkin piece.

Assemble the pumpkins

Once both pumpkin pieces are covered in paper, it’s time to fit them together. The two pieces have slits that allow them to fit snugly, creating a 3D standing pumpkin. This can be a tight fit, so if you have trouble aligning them, don’t worry! Use a mallet or hammer to gently tap the pieces into place. To avoid damaging the pumpkin, place a towel or soft cloth over the pumpkin and then tap with the mallet until the pieces align. If you don’t have a mallet or hammer, any flat surface like a coffee cup will work in a pinch!

Finishing touches

For the final step, I wrapped some leaf-shaped ribbon around the pumpkin stem to give it a finished look. You can get creative with this step—use twine, raffia, or any other ribbon that fits your decor style.

The Perfect Fall or Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Once you’ve completed your pumpkins, arrange them on your dining table, mantel, or entryway for a sweet and festive fall centerpiece. Whether you’re hosting a Thanksgiving dinner or just adding some seasonal decor to your home, these decoupage pumpkins are sure to make a statement. The combination of my American Crafts Groovy Darlin’ paper with the simple elegance of the chipboard pumpkins creates a centerpiece that is both stylish and personal. It’s a project that’s easy enough for beginners but fun for experienced crafters, too!

Whether you’re looking for a fun kids’ craft or a unique girls’ night project, these colorful frames are a perfect choice. Plus, I’ll share some essential tips and tricks to ensure your decoupage project turns out beautifully.

Supplies You’ll Need

Before we get started, gather the following supplies:

• Groovy Darlin’ paper and saying thickers
• Scallop frames
• Matte Mod Podge
• Paint Brush
• Pencil to trace frames
• Photos to put in the frames (I printed my photos on my printer with photo paper)

Preparing the Frames

First, take the back and picture frame glass out of the frames. This step ensures that you can work with just the frame itself, making the process easier and cleaner.

Choosing and Tracing Your Paper

Next, pick out the Groovy Darlin’ paper you’d like to use for your frames. Flip the paper over and trace the frame onto the back with a pencil. This will be your guide for cutting out the paper. Make sure to trace accurately, so the paper fits the frame perfectly.

Cutting the Paper

Carefully cut out the traced outline using scissors or a craft knife. Take your time to ensure clean, precise cuts, especially around any detailed edges or scallops on the frame.

Applying Mod Podge to the Frame

To begin the decoupage process, add an even coat of Mod Podge over the entire front of the frame using a paintbrush. Make sure the layer is smooth and covers all areas where you’ll be applying the paper.

Applying Mod Podge to the Paper

Next, apply an even layer of Mod Podge to the back of the paper you just cut out. This step is crucial because it allows you to adjust the paper’s placement on the frame until it’s perfectly aligned.

Placing the Paper on the Frame

Lay the paper over the frame and line it up with the edges. Use a smoothing tool or a credit card to smooth the paper onto the frame, ensuring there are no air bubbles or wrinkles. This step might require a bit of patience, but it’s worth it for a professional-looking finish.

Sealing the Frame

Let the Mod Podge dry completely. Once it’s dry, add an even layer of Mod Podge over the top of the paper to seal the frame. This top coat not only protects the paper but also gives it a nice finish.

Adding Embellishments

Once the top coat is dry, you can add any embellishments you like. Use saying thickers or any other decorations to give your frame a personalized touch. Enjoy your colorful, customized frames!

Decoupaging Tips and Tricks

To help you achieve the best results, here are some additional decoupaging tips and tricks:

1. Double Layer of Mod Podge: Be sure to add Mod Podge to both the frame and the back of the paper. This allows the paper to be easily moved until the placement is perfect.
2. Smooth Application: Use a smoothing tool or credit card to evenly adhere the paper to the frame. This helps prevent air bubbles and wrinkles.
3. Secure Edges: Make sure to smooth the edges of the paper to the frame so that the paper doesn’t curl up. Secure edges ensure a neat and professional look.
4. Complete Drying: Let the Mod Podge dry completely before adding another layer on top of the paper. If it’s not completely dry, the paper can curl up, and bubbles can form underneath.

Perfect for Parties and Gatherings

This DIY decoupage project is not just a great individual craft; it’s also an excellent idea for birthday parties, kids’ craft afternoons in the summer, or a girls’ night in with girlfriends. Imagine setting up a table with all the supplies, some charcuterie boards, and fun drinks. Everyone goes home with a cute party favor! Paper Butterfly Wreath and Free Butterfly Template. Create a vibrant summer wreath adorned with paper butterflies, adding a touch of whimsy and handmade charm to your home decor.

Paper Butterfly Wreath and Free Butterfly Template

I love paper crafting! One of my favorite things about Summer are the beautiful butterflies. So I thought it would be fun to make some paper butterflies for a wreath. I am using my Jen Hadfield Flower Child line of papers, available at various craft stores including scrapbook.com and JoAnn Stores. We’ll be using these whimsical papers to create a stunning Paper Butterfly Summer Wreath that will add a touch of whimsy to any space.

Paper Butterfly Wreath Supplies:

1. Faux boxwood wreath
2. Ribbon (opt for a wider pink ribbon and a thinner yellow plaid ribbon for a playful contrast)
3. Paper (select six different designs from the Flower Child Collection for variety)
4. Gold wire
5. Hot glue gun

How to Make Paper Butterflies:

1. Print the Template: Begin by printing off the butterfly wings template from the provided resource. This template offers two sizes of butterfly wings, allowing for versatility in your wreath design.
2. Cut Out Butterfly Wings: Using the template, carefully cut out the butterfly wings from your chosen Flower Child papers. Remember, you’ll need both sizes of wings for each butterfly. Note that the bottom of the butterfly is narrower than the top.
3. Prepare Gold Wire: Cut a 12-inch piece of gold wire for each butterfly.
4. Fold Butterfly Wings: Gently fold the wings along the indicated lines for both the larger and smaller sets.
5. Assemble Butterflies: Loosely fold the gold wire in half and slip the butterfly wings inside the loop, ensuring that the wider, thinner wings are positioned on top and the thicker, less-wide wings are at the bottom. Pinch the wings together with your fingers and wrap the gold wire around them, securing them in place. Twist the ends of the wire to create antennae, then fashion them into spirals for a whimsical touch. Trim any excess wire using heavy-duty scissors or wire cutters.
6. Once the butterfly is done, lay it flat and use your fingers to push the folds so that the wings open up and pull the top wings to the top and the bottom wings to the bottom to separate the top from the bottom.
7. Create Multiple Butterflies: Repeat the process with all six different paper prints to create six large butterflies. Additionally, use the smaller set of wings to craft three smaller butterflies. Feel free to adjust the number and sizes of butterflies based on your preference.
8. Attach Butterflies to Wreath: Once all your butterflies are assembled, arrange them on your faux boxwood wreath in a pleasing configuration. Once satisfied with the placement, use a hot glue gun to firmly attach them to the wreath.
9. Add Ribbon Bow: Cut two pieces of ribbon, approximately 30 inches in length each. Tie them into a bow and secure the bow to the top of the wreath using hot glue.
10. Admire Your Creation: Step back and admire your Paper Butterfly Summer Wreath, showcasing the beauty of Jen Hadfield’s Flower Child papers. Hang it on your front door, above a mantel, or anywhere that needs a touch of summer cheer.

Other Ways to Use Paper Butterflies

I added these delightful butterflies to my wreath, but there are other ways you can use these paper butterflies!

• Add a small dowel to the butterflies and put them in a vase with flowers
• Punch holes at the top of the butterfly wings on both sides and tie the butterflies together to make a whimsical summer butterfly garland.
• Use small pins and pin the butterflies to a wall or over a fireplace to make the butterflies look like they are flying!

How to Print off the Butterfly Templates

It’s super easy to print off the template. Simply right-click on the butterfly template link. Then open it in a new tab. Right-click on the image again and select “print”.

Use Excess Paper to Create Paper Vases

I used the left-over paper to wrap around tin cans and create paper vases that match the wreath. So easy. Just measure the height of each can, then trim paper to fit and wrap it around the can, securing it at the back with either hot glue or tape. So easy!!
