Hi, friends! Can you believe that Spring is just DAYS away?? I can’t wait for warmer weather, working in my yard and garden, long walks in our historic neighborhood and spring parties and brunches!! Today I am sharing a sweet and easy recipe that will be a highlight on your spring brunch table OR so easy to make to brighten up your morning anytime!

Easy Brunch Recipe

Tulip toast is an idea that you can whip up in MINUTES! I found this idea through MacKenzie Biehl while looking at ideas on Pinterest. All you need is a toaster. Gather the ingredients and make some for Easter brunch or for any spring weekend! Your kids are going to love making these pretty tulips out of cherry tomatoes.

Ingredients to Make Tulip Toast

• small french bread loaf
• Cherry tomatoes – red and orange.
• Cream cheese spread – I used whipped chive cream cheese spread.
• Chives.
• Oregano leaves or basil for flower leaves.

Ingredients

• 6 slices bakery bread
• 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese
• 10 long chives
• 24 pieces herb leaves – used Oregano but you can also use Basil.
• 13-14 cherry tomatoes

Instructions

• Slice 6 slices of bread (you can make more or less, depending on how many people you are making these for)
• Toast the bread.
• Once cooled, spread whipped cream cheese on toasted slices.
• Add chives on top of the cream cheese. These will be the stems of the tulips. I put 2-3 stems on each piece of toast.

Make Tulip Heads

• Take each cherry tomato, make slices at the top of the round side of the tomato. Make one slice going horizontal across the top. Then make anther slice going horizontally,. You can also make three or four slices, having all of the slices intersect at the middle.
• Scoop out the seeds inside of each tomato.
• Add a tulip head (tomato) at the top of each chive.

Add Leaves

• Place leaves connecting to the chives to look like tulip leaves.
• Enjoy!

• Cut french bread into slices.
• Toast bread.
• Spread cream cheese on toasted bread slices.
• Cut cherry tomatoes. Make a horizontal slice and a vertical slice. at the round end of the tomato.
• Scoop out the seeds.
• Lay the chives as stems and trim them to size with kitchen sheers.
• Put the red and green cherry tomatoes at the top of the chives.
• Add oregano or basil leaves to the tulip flowers.
• Enjoy!

DIY Daisy Paper Chain Banner

There’s just something about daisies that makes everything feel a little brighter, don’t you think? These cheerful blooms are popping up in fashion, accessories, and now—your home decor! Whether you’re throwing a daisy-themed party, decorating for spring, or just want to bring some floral happiness indoors, this DIY daisy paper chain is the perfect project. Bonus points? I used paper from my brand new American Crafts paper collection, and I can’t wait for you to see how it turned out!

Five DIY Paper Crafts to Try This Spring

Today I’m joining four of my super creative friends who are also sharing DIY paper crafts—there’s something for everyone! From flowers to fun home accents, you’ll find tons of ideas to brighten up your space.
Be sure to scroll all the way down and HOP over to their tutorials for even more papery fun. You’re going to want to try them all, promise.

Supplies for Your DIY Daisy Paper Chain Garland

Here’s everything you need to create your easy daisy paper garland at home:

• White 12×12 cardstock (for the daisy petals)
• Yellow patterned paper from my American Crafts paper pad (for the flower centers)
• Matching yellow paint
• Empty egg carton (optional but fun!)
• Pink 12×12 paper (for the paper chain links)
• Hot glue gun
• Stapler
• Scissors or paper trimmer

How to Make the Petals for Your DIY Paper Daisy Flowers

Start by making the petals for your paper daisy flowers. Use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut the white 12×12 cardstock into 2-inch strips.

• Fold each strip in half.

• Trim the folded end with scissors so it’s slightly narrower—this gives your daisy petals a natural shape.

• Take six petals and overlap them into a circle.

• Use a stapler to attach them together at the narrow ends.

Each flower uses six petals, and don’t worry about that staple showing—now you’re going to cut out a white circle to cover up the staples.

Add the Yellow Flower Centers to Your Paper Daisy Chain

Now take the paper egg carton and cut out three of the egg holders. Then trim it to look circular.

Now use scissors to make cuts around the edges of the egg container. Paint the egg cartons the same color yellow as the paper.

• Make 1.5 inch paper strips with the yellow paper. Then make small cuts halfway through the paper all the way down the strips.

• Fold the paper in half.

• and then roll it up and secure the edges with hot glue.

Boom—your DIY paper daisies are blooming beautifully.

Create the Pink Paper Chain to Attach the Daisy Flowers

Now it’s time to create the paper chain garland that holds it all together!

• Cut your pink 12×12 paper into twelve 1-inch strips.
• Take the first strip and glue the ends together to make a loop.
• Loop the second strip through the first, then glue its ends.
• Continue this until you have three loops.

For the third strip, loop it through the previous chain and one of your daisy petals. Hot glue it in place to connect the flower to the chain.

Repeat this on the other side of the flower with three more loops and the next daisy.

Assembling the DIY Daisy Paper Chain Banner

To build your DIY daisy banner, follow this pattern:

1. Add three paper chain loops
2. Attach a daisy flower
3. Add three more loops
4. Repeat until all your flowers are attached

You can make your daisy garland as long or short as you like—just adjust the number of flowers and paper chain links.

Want smaller flowers? Just halve the size of everything (1-inch strips instead of 2-inch, smaller circles, etc.) for a mini version.

Ways to Use Your DIY Daisy Paper Garland for Spring Decor

Your cheerful DIY daisy paper chain garland is now ready to decorate your space! Here are some fun ways to use it:

• Hang it over a doorway to welcome guests
• Drape it across your mantel for instant spring style
• Use it to decorate a shelf or tiered tray

Teen Photo Scavenger Hunt Game Printable Checklist 

Easter is fun when your kids are small. You might think the fun ends as they get bigger, but in my opinion holidays can be even more fun with older kids.

An Easter Hunt for Tweens and Teens

All you have to do is tweak your traditions so that they are fun for older kids too. So instead of a traditional Easter Egg Hunt, why not put a twist on it with an Easter Photo Scavenger Hunt??

Teen Photo Scavenger Hunt Game Printable Checklist 

This is a fun idea for teens because most teens have phones with built-in cameras. And you can break people up into teams, so if you have kids that are too young for phones you can pair them up with teens or adults who do have phones with cameras. Another idea you can use if you have people without access to phones with cameras, is to use Instax cameras.

No Preparation is Necessary for This Fun Photo Hunt

All you have to do is give each team a copy of this outside photo scavenger hunt game and let them scour the neighborhood. Once they find an answer to a clue, they simply take a picture of that clue. I also am going to hide eggs throughout the neighborhood, especially around clues so the teams can be on the lookout for eggs too. I found the cutest bunny bags – pink and white for the teams.

Photo Scavenger Hunt is Fun and Kids Have Photos to Remember

And once the teams are all back you can go through the photos to see what the teams came up with!! The fun part of this is your kids (and their friends) will have fun photo reminders of their scavenger hunt adventures.

Print the Photos Off and Add Them to Your Albums!

You can also print the photos off and give them out or even put them in inexpensive photo albums as a party favor. I will put ours in our Family Home Photo Book – where I keep track of all the fun things we do as a family.

You Can Give Out Different Prizes So Everyone Wins

Also, once the teams are back and you have all looked at the pictures, you can give out Easter Prizes. You can give everyone the same Easter prize OR you can break out the teams into different category winners. Such as:

• A prize for the team that gets back the fastest.
• A prize for the team with the most creative photos.
• A prize for the team with the silliest photos.
• A prize for the team that finds the most eggs.

Celebrate Easter with a Kids Outdoor Easter Scavenger Hunt! Your kids and teens will love running around the neighborhood solving clues and collecting a basket of awesome prizes. All of the instructions and free printable clues are included to make it simple for you! 

Kids Outdoor Easter Scavenger Egg Hunt

Easter is coming up fast and it’s one of our favorite holidays to celebrate. We ALWAYS have an Easter Egg Hunt. As my kids have grown older our Easter Egg Hunt has evolved into a scavenger hunt – which is perfect for kids AND teens! We hide eggs and prizes all over the neighborhood with clues which make the hunt more challenging and even MORE fun!

Printable Clues for Kids Easter Egg Hunt

This year I am adding another element to our hunt – COLORS. To make things easier to prepare the Scavenger Hunt, each kid gets their own color. The clues are the same color as the eggs and the basket.

I made printable clues in cute Easter Egg patterns. The clues are items that are found in ANY neighborhood – a sign, a door, a hose, a trash can, a tree, a fire hydrant, etc.

All you need to do is print off the clues on colored card stock – a color for each child that will be participating in the hunt. And don’t limit the fun to kids, adults would enjoy this too! You can customize your hunt with the prizes. Then cut out the egg clues and put them in matching egg colors.

Each basket will be filled with the same color eggs. Like this one!

Fill Clue Baskets with Prizes

And speaking of prizes, we found some awesome ones! Walmart has a wide-variety of toys, plush animals, and prizes for kids, teens and adults. As well as an amazing assortment of fun items that I knew our kids would LOVE. The thing I love about Walmart is the quality and prices. I can find brand-name items at great prices. And the selection is exceptional.

Hide Clue Baskets Outside

At each clue destination is a prize. I found 11 awesome prizes and I put them in the same colorful wicker baskets ($1.88 each – wow) that I put the clues in. They were the perfect size. I also loved that they came in many different colors so I could give one color to each of my kids and they matched the clues and eggs for each child.

Some of my favorite prize finds were sidewalk SPRAY Chalk –  how cool is that?? Giant bubble sticks – everyone loves bubbles. Kinder Joy Easter Eggs – chocolate eggs with a little toy inside. Sweet plush animals – those lambs are so cute. And probably my favorite is the Glove-a-Bubble, which are gloves with bubble mix inside and the bubbles come out when the kids wear them and run around. The characters on the gloves are so cute. I think my kids are going to love all of these fun prizes.

Once you have your prizes in their spots throughout your neighborhood, hand out the clue baskets! I also made a printable tag that you can hang on each basket if you want.

Kids Open the Clues and Find the Prizes

And if you want to make things even more fun, you can have your teens wear these Maskimals Oversized Easter Bunny Masks. They are so funny! I also found these at Walmart and they have different animals too – in case they all want to be different animals.

Clues and Eggs are Color Matched

The kids begin by opening one of the eggs in their basket and then they try to find the clue basket that goes with that clue. Since they will probably all open different clues, this makes the hunt more exciting because they will all go off in different directions. They can race to see who can solve all of the clues and collect of the prizes first.

Everyone Gets the Same Amount of Prizes

Once all of the eggs in the basket have been opened, the clues read and all prizes found, the hunt is done. Of course as a mom I love that they all get the same amount of prizes and treats which makes things fair.

Print off the clues and head over to Walmart and pick up the prizes that YOUR people will love! Walmart has something that EVERYONE will enjoy at amazing prices. Make Easter memories with YOUR family with this simple Outdoor Easter Scavenger Hunt Game.

Turn Grocery Store Paper Bags into Adorable Gift Bags

One of the things I love about this idea is how inexpensive it is to create these bunny gift bags! All you need are ordinary lunch bags that you can buy at the grocery store and yarn. I used some yarn that I already had on hand, but you can find yarn at any hobby store. Here is a link to similar yarn that I used — Fuzzy Cream Yarn. I love the fuzziness of the yarn, it’s so soft and the texture is really pretty.

Make Easter Bunny Treat Bags with Your Kids

This is a really fun craft to make with your kids and even teens love it. It’s really fast to make and your kids will love making the pom poms!

Here’s How to Make Easter Bunny Treat Bags

Only a few steps are needed to make these adorable treat bags.

Step 1: Lay Your Paper Bag Out on Your Work Surface

Step 2: Fold The Paper Bag in Half

Step 3: Make a Cut at the Fold

Make a cute about 1/3 of the way down the bag at the fold. The cut should be about 2 inches long.

Step 4: Make the Ears

Start at the end of the cut and cut straight up the bag. When you get about 3 inches from the top, start curving the cut so that it looks like a half circle. This is the top of the bunny’s ear.

Step 5: Unfold the Bag and Lay it Flat

Step 6: Make the Bunny Tail.

• To make the tail, find something that is about 5 inches long. You can use a small book, your phone, or even a piece of cardboard that is cut to that length.
• Wrap the yarn around the object 75 times.
• Slide the yarn off the object and cut the yarn at the top and bottom, so you have two sections of yarn that are the same size.
• Lay the yarn in a pile.
• Take the uncut yarn and cut a 6 inch length.
• Lay that 6-inch length of yarn on your work surface.
• Lay the pile of yarn on top and tie it in the middle. Tie it tightly with a knot.
• Use your scissors and shape the yarn into a ball shape.

Step 7: Fill the Bag with the Treats/Gift

Step 8: Use ribbon to tie the bag right under the ears.

I used a book to hold the ears in place so that I could tie it in the middle of the ears. Make a bow.

Step 9: Hot Glue the Tail

Hot glue the tail in the middle of the paper bag, under the bow , leaving 2-3 inches of lunch bag showing under the tail.

A Refreshing, Colorful, and Easy Dessert

What makes these Egg-Shaped Fruit Pizza Tarts so special? For one, they’re incredibly refreshing and light, with a buttery cookie base and a tangy-sweet cream cheese topping. The addition of fresh fruit not only makes them healthier but also adds a stunning pop of color that will make any brunch table shine! Plus, the individual-sized portions make them perfect for serving at parties, so everyone gets their own little masterpiece.

Creating the Perfect Egg Shape

To keep the egg shape consistent, I used a DIY cardboard template. I simply cut an egg shape out of cardboard and placed it over the rolled-out cookie dough before cutting around it with a knife. This ensures all your tarts come out uniform, making for an even more beautiful display.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

Fruit Tart Cookie Crust:

• Sugar cookie dough (homemade or store-bought – This is my favorite sugar cookie dough recipe! )
• Flour (for rolling out the dough)

Fruit Tart Cheesecake Topping:

(a store-bought cheesecake filling can be used)

• 8 oz cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit Tart Fruit Topping:

• 4 kiwis, peeled and sliced
• 1 cup mandarin orange slices (pat all excess moisture off the oranges)
• 1.5 cups blueberries
• 1 cup blackberries
• 1 cup raspberries

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Cookie Dough

You can either use a homemade sugar cookie dough or store-bought dough to save time. (Here’s a link to my favorite sugar cookie dough recipe!) If making from scratch, prepare the dough and let it chill for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out.

Tip: Roll out the dough on a parchment paper-lined surface. This prevents sticking and makes it easier to transfer the cookies onto a baking sheet without losing their shape.

Step 2: Cut Out the Egg Shapes

Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the cookie dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Place your egg template on top of the dough and carefully cut around it using a sharp knife. Repeat until all cookies are shaped.

Tip: The colder the dough, the less it will spread while baking. If your dough gets too soft, pop it back into the fridge for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Bake the Cookies

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure to leave some space between each one as they will expand slightly. I baked four cookies per sheet, but this will depend on your egg template size.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before adding the toppings.

Step 4: Prepare the Cheesecake Topping

While the cookies are cooling, whip up the cream cheese topping. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. This sweet, tangy topping complements the fruit beautifully!

Step 5: Assemble the Fruit Pizza Tarts

Once the cookies are completely cool, spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture over each one. Now it’s time to decorate with fruit!

Tip: Pat all fruit dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps prevent the juices from bleeding onto the cheesecake layer and keeps everything looking fresh and beautiful.

Here’s the pattern I used for a bright and cheerful design:

• Sliced kiwi at the top and bottom of the egg
• Blueberries are next
• Mandarin orange slices below the kiwi
• Blackberries and raspberries in the center
• Continue the pattern at the other end of the egg

But feel free to get creative with your fruit choices! Strawberries, pineapple, or even mango slices would be beautiful alternatives.

Serving & Storage Tips

For the best results, serve these fruit pizza tarts immediately or refrigerate them for no more than 1-2 hours before serving. The cookies will start to soften if left in the fridge for too long, so it’s best to enjoy them fresh!

DIY Spring Moss Bunny Topiary

Spring is the perfect time to add fresh and natural elements to your home decor, and if there’s one project you should tackle this season, it’s this DIY Spring Moss Bunny Topiary! This adorable bunny is simple to make, mess-free, and will bring a touch of whimsy to your space for years to come.

Spring DIY Ideas

But before we get started, I am joining some creative friends who are all sharing the cutest Spring DIY ideas! Be sure to scroll down and HOP over to see them!

Supplies You’ll Need

Ok — Let’s get to work! To create your own DIY spring moss bunny topiary, gather the following supplies:

• Two styrofoam balls – 12 inches and 8 inches
• One roll of moss with adhesive backing
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Cardboard (for ears)
• Toothpicks or skewers (optional but make it easier to attach the ears to the head)
• Ribbon
• A cute pot – I love this textured one and I think it is on sale!

Why use a Moss Sheet instead of Regular Moss?

I chose to use a moss sheet with an adhesive backing because it makes this project incredibly easy and much less messy. Unlike loose moss, which can be a hassle to glue on piece by piece, the sheet adheres smoothly and quickly. This means you can complete your bunny topiary in no time and avoid a moss-covered workspace!

Step-by-Step Directions

Create a Flat Surface on the Styrofoam Balls

Start by using a knife to cut a small flat surface on one end of each of the styrofoam balls. This step is essential because it allows the two balls to fit securely together and helps the bunny’s head stay in place.

Cover the Balls with Moss

Now, it’s time to apply the moss! If you’re using the same size styrofoam balls I did, you’ll need just ONE roll of moss. However, to make it stretch, don’t apply moss to the bottom third of the larger ball (the bunny’s body). This ensures that you have enough moss for the whole project.

And don’t discard any extra moss that comes off the sheets! You’ll need it later to create the bunny’s ears.

Attach the Bunny’s Head to the Body

Once both styrofoam balls are covered in moss, it’s time to attach the head to the body. Apply a thick layer of hot glue to the flat parts of both balls and firmly press them together. Hold the head in place while the glue cools and dries to ensure a secure hold.

Make and Attach the Ears

Next, cut out two bunny ears from cardboard. You can make them any size you like, but I made mine about the length of the bunny’s head. Once cut, insert a toothpick or wooden skewer into the base of each ear.

To cover the ears, spread a layer of hot glue on the front of each cardboard piece and press the extra moss onto it. Repeat this step on all sides of the ears, then trim up the edges with scissors for a polished look.

Once the ears are fully covered, insert the skewers into the top of the bunny’s head to attach them securely.

Fill in Gaps and Add Finishing Touches

Check for any gaps in the moss and use leftover moss to fill them in. This will give your bunny a complete and seamless look.

Now for the fun part—decorating! Make a bow with your ribbon and attach it to the bunny with hot glue. I also placed some faux flowers in the pot around the bunny for an extra touch of spring charm. To make it even more magical, I added twinkle lights at the base of my bunny. I used lights with a timer and remote for easy setup and control!
