{Happy} Halloween Wreath Tutorial

Have I mentioned that I love Halloween - lol? I do -- but I don't really care for the gruesome, bloody side of Halloween decor. I like to keep my Halloween cute and lighthearted. I was trying to come up with a new Halloween Wreath and really wanted to make something with polka dots -- you know how I love those. Plus some glitter -- nothing says Halloween like glitter :) I had a Dollar Store … [Read more...]

My take on a Modern Fall 3-D Wreath

I think Mod Podge might be the reason that I started blogging – LOL. I was on a mod podge kick and needed a place to keep my ideas. Over the years, I think I have tried decoupaging just about everything from frames and magnet boards to tables and trays to bar stools. I just can’t get enough of the stuff! In honor of one of my favorite crafting mediums, I came up with a little project — my … [Read more...]

Quatrefoil Wreath Tutorial

My Quatrefoil obsession continues. I decided to try to make a quatrefoil wreath to hang in front of my house. Here's what I did: 1. I took two small foam wreaths and cut it each in half with scissors. 2. Then I laid the pieces on my works surface and lined up the edges so it was even. I trimmed a couple of the sides so they would line up correctly. 3. I pinned the wreath edges … [Read more...]

Hey, all you burlap lovers!

A few weeks ago a reader suggested that I add a linky at the bottom of some of my more popular projects. I think it's a great idea because you guys are so creative!   You take ideas and improve on them, give them a twist and make them your own! So -- I added a linky to my 2010 Burlap Wreath.   If you have made this wreath, or a variation of it, will you go HERE and link up your … [Read more...]

Ruffled Burlap Easter Wreath tutorial

I finally made an Easter project. I don't know what my problem has been lately. I didn't make anything for St. Patrick's Day, but I've finally got my Easter groove on. I also got my Easter boxes out today and decorated - yay! This was a really quick and easy wreath to make. I think the total time was around 1 hour -- including decoupaging the eggs (but not drying time). If you want to make one, … [Read more...]

Freecycle Project: Spring Kitchen {spoon} Wreath

I love freecycle! I have listed a bunch of things and people come and take it -- I love to think my stuff I don't need anymore is going to someone who needs it (I hope anyway).  I have put in requests a few times for things that I could use for projects. A few weeks ago I was imagining all sorts of projects using silverware. So I put a request on Freecycle for mismatched silverware. And the … [Read more...]

Erin from Chris, Erin & Jayce: Book Page Wreath

Hello everyone at Tatertots and Jello! I am super excited to be guest blogging for Jen today! In fact, when I first found out that I would be doing this, I called my husband to tell him the news, and when he asked what I wanted to do to celebrate, I exclaimed, “Go to Hobby Lobby!!” I was being serious. But anyway, this post isn’t about my dorkiness so I’ll move on. I am Erin from Chris, Erin … [Read more...]

Whimsical Valentine Wreath

I was reading Martha Stewart last month (I think) and they had these giant Christmas balls made out of cupcake liners. And I thought to myself - maybe I could use cupcake liners to make a wreath for Valentine's Day...   I love the texture of the liners. After a little trial and error, this is what I came up with. I found some cupcake liners at Hobby Lobby. I really wanted … [Read more...]

2010 Burlap Wreath and a giveaway

I retired the marshmallow wreath. It was a great wreath, but not one to keep for next year. I noticed a strange fact -- although I live in a desert, the marshmallows never dried out. They were still squishy when I took the wreath apart -- weird. On the plus side, the birds and other animals never ate any of it :) I wanted to make a wreath to welcome in the new year and decade. And I had a lot … [Read more...]
