Super Easy & Cute T-Shirt Refashion

This is easily my favorite and easiest t-shirt refashion that I have tried so far. All it requires is a needle and thread - no machine! I started with two clearance t-shirts from Forever 21 {$2/ea.}. I used the second t-shirt to make the flowers. But you can use leftover fabric for the flowers and then you only need one shirt. I made a sketch of what I wanted the t-shirt to look … [Read more...]

20-minute Flip Flop Project

Here's a fun project to do this Summer. My kids loved being able to pick out the fabric and embellishments so their flip flops were 100% their own creation. I bought cheap flip flops from Old Navy. They have flip flops in almost any color you can imagine. Two pair = $5 and they are even $1/pair when they are on sale! Here's what you need: Flip flops Fabric scraps Button covers … [Read more...]

Creative Fridays: Back to School Hair Clips

Five more days until school starts. I still can't believe it! I think we're ready. Yesterday I took my oldest to high school orientation. Yikes - how did I get old enough to have a child entering high school?!! We waited in line for 2 hours to get a locker. But it was fun to explore the school and meet his teachers. We have new outfits for the first day, backpacks, school supplies, lunch boxes. And … [Read more...]

My Biggest Summer Project checked off the list: Garage Redo

Sorry I haven't been posting very much the past few weeks. We have had house guests, but also, I have been in the midst of a garage meltdown. Do you have a place where you stash all of your crap? A place that people seldom see-- where you can throw your old clothes, art junk, cardboard boxes, school projects, oozing cans of paint, rusty tools and cast-offs? (And, see that buckets? A zillion pair … [Read more...]

Creative Fridays: Making pendants out of metal label holders

Hello Tip Junkie readers! I am so excited to be featured with my metal label holder pendants. How did I come up with this idea? I have been experimenting with resin jewelry for awhile. I was at the craft store getting more supplies for my resin project, when I and saw some metal label holders in the scrapbooking section -- my imagination started to whirl. Could I use make those metal label … [Read more...]

First Day of Summer Project: Glitter Toes

Who cares if it's raining? It's the first day of Summer Vacation, we're still going to have fun! I had been hearing about Glitter Toes for a long time. Basically you go to a nail salon and have them apply a very heavy-duty gel to your toes. The plus side is that this gel stays on for a long time, the downside is that it is very hard to get off. +++ So last week when the clever and talented Kami at … [Read more...]

Creative Fridays: Summer Dollar Store Craft

Today is the last day of school - yay!!! And to celebrate, I made a Summer craft for my mantle. I saw this idea at the cute, Jenni at A Nest To Keep. She made a "Spring" to put on her mantle. Hers turned out so cute! I decided to use scrapbook paper to add some pizazz and color to the project. But if you like a simpler, shabby look, the plain letters with the simple frames look great! I found … [Read more...]

Creative Fridays: Summertime projects

I am counting down the days til Summer break. And I'm compiling a list of projects that I can do this summer with my kids. Here are two cute ones I found this week to add to the list: ******** I came across a great blogger named Leigh Ann, who's blog The object Project is so wonderful - she has all sorts of crafty projects tutorials. Leigh Ann made a bracelet purse for her daughter that is so … [Read more...]
