Creative Fridays: Decoupaged Summer Stars

I love to decoupage. I am always on the lookout for a new project. So when I saw these stars last month I picked them up. I finally got around to making some! I traced each arm of the star onto paper and cut it out to make a pattern. I then traced the pattern onto my scrapbook paper. I thought it would be fun to do 5 coordinating papers on each star. After the stars were decoupaged, I cut … [Read more...]

Decorating Inspiration: Blue Crush

There's something about shades of blue that are so classic, so summery. I am slowly transforming my home into a brown and blue theme. It started with my bedroom and has progressed downstairs into my living room. Blue: The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming … [Read more...]

Creative Fridays: Summer Dollar Store Craft

Today is the last day of school - yay!!! And to celebrate, I made a Summer craft for my mantle. I saw this idea at the cute, Jenni at A Nest To Keep. She made a "Spring" to put on her mantle. Wood floors: the laminate vs. real wood debate

As you might know, in November we finally got new carpet - replacing very ugly, fugly white, speckled, stained horribleness. We debated whether to re-carpet the office or go another direction. Jeff's office is directly to the left of the front door and gets a lot of foot traffic. You wouldn't believe how horrible that carpet looked! No matter how many times I got out the trusty steam vac, those … [Read more...]
