DIY Day: Remake an old wreath into a Spooky wreath

It’s DIY Day over at Kimba’s A Soft Place to Land. I thought I would join the party! I have had this wreath for about 15 years. Don’t ask me why I keep dragging it around with me every time we move. Since I didn’t have a Halloween wreath, I thought why not try to turn this old wreath into a new one?
Here’s what it looked like before – pretty sad, huh? Here’s what I did to transform it:
  • I took off the pine cones and spray painted it black (I had some leftover from another project).
  • I had some black and white ribbon so I used that to wrap around the wreath.
  • I bought this candy corn garland at the Dollar Store. I liked the way it popped with the black paint color.
  • I bought this light up ghost lantern at Walmart last year on clearance – I think it was $1. I took out the lighting fixture and tied a white ribbon onto the ghost.
  • I had a pack of 2 battery-operated tea lights that I bought at the Dollar Store. I taped those into the lantern.
  • I hung the lantern inside the wreath.
And voila – a new Halloween wreath for THREE DOLLARS. I love the way the tea lights make the lantern flicker in the darkness.
Thanks for coming by!
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
